I'll definitely play it eventually but reviews and fan reception will determine how soon. Very unlikely I get it day one. I enjoyed the first one for what it was, but the lengthy and sometimes egregious gameplay was a slog to get to the story

I played the first one a couple weeks ago when I knew this was coming out. I was pleasantly surprised. Fully voice acted, great characters, and some brutal scenes. I just wish the QTE segments and trial and error timed Somnium sections didn't suck so much. I hope they improve those bits.

Going in blind. All I know is the apparently the change in protaganists but that's it.

But considering the nature of the game, you have to play it Day 1 or get spoiled out the ass by jerks.

Yeah it's been a huge issue with a ton of retailers.

Spike Chunsoft says they're investigating but that it's apparently nothing to do with them??

Had the exact same thing happen to me. I'm hoping they're able to sort out the issue but at this point I'm expecting to just get the normal version.

Between this and Xenoblade 3 it has been a terrible month for special edition pre-orders lol

If you say yes it basically says that it will integrate in spoilers for the first game. I'm not sure exactly how because I'm not very far into the game at all.

By the way, I've investigated like two areas now and it looks like I'm missing several trivia entries despite clicking on everything (as far as I know). Anyone know how to get them all? Do you need to examine/talk to people in a particular order or something? Or maybe come back later?

From what I've heard it just doesn't bring up details from the first game any time they would normally have come up.

For example if you have spoilers set to on you can (very large AI 1 spoiler) ask Date about why his face looks like that when that's not his real bodies face. Whereas otherwise the option never pops up at all.

And otherwise the plots are truly unrelated and just involve the same characters.

I didn't get the answer to the shot in the leg question right because I played the first game at release and didn't remember. I haven't got any dialogue options that covered spoilers of the first game so that sucks. I wish the game was just fine with me saying yes to completing the first game.

I just restarted immediately when I got one of them wrong. I actually just misspelled the second one as Saigo .

On a different note, I'm very confused why the game just brought up an easily researchable trivia question and got it wrong.

Hm not sure how I feel about it so far. Spoilers:

Got to Ryuki's route in the first split and then did Chikara's, Tokiko's and just got to Komeji's Somnium. The story doesn't seem to be going anywhere. The Somniums are actual puzzles now instead of random guessing which is great. But they kind of feel less creative? Every character shows up in their own dream and a predictable location (Lab, Naix building, amusement park). And Lien is an annoying creep. Then again I didn't exactly love the first game until everything came together. Also it's Ryuki telling his story from 6 years ago, so how and when will there be another split going forward?

Just some thoughts, please don't reply to this post.

Beat the game. I would say I like this more than than the first game due to the psyncs. A lot less trial and error with some solid puzzle solving. There are just some really great psyncs as well. There's also a twist in the game that blew my mind much more compared to what I remember from the first game.
