Nika is probably based on Sun Wukong. The last panel with Luffy's eyebrows is the exact design of the golden headband that was used to control Sun Wukong in Journey to the West. Wukong can change size at will, can clone himself, and is pretty much immune to everything other than Buddha reciting sutras.
