Why would she want to watch the hobbit if she's already dating one?

Are any of the other Hobbit movies good? I think I remember liking the animated one but I watched it a long time ago so I'm not sure if it is actually good.

Fellowship
Two Towers
Desolation
Five Armies
Return of the King
Its definitely something you should watch only if she loves the LotR trilogy and wants to spend more time in Middle-earth.
She wont be confused by Lord of the Rings lol

Can you explain this? It's a joke; follows the same order as Star Wars Machete order (OT1, OT2, PT2, PT3, OT3)
How about machete order?:
Fellowship of the Ring
The Two Towers
The Desolation of Smaug
Battle of the Five Armies
Return of the King

yeah, this. maybe she'll miss some of the details (i remember when i was watching fellowship with my mom and elrond was talking about isildur, she was like "wait who was this guy again") but the overall plot isn't hard to follow at all.
Fair. I couldn't remember if there was some confusing lore stuff I didn't get back when I watched it last but thought Hobbit might have been an easier entry point.
The only lore from The Hobbit that matters to LotR is Bilbo stole a magic ring from a creature named Gollum, and they cover that
Mostly love the Hobbit movies for Misty Mountains Cold and Benedict's Smaug performance

Read the Hobbit, then read the LOTR.
But to play along, watch the LOTR only. Read the Hobbit afterwards if she must.
No one should watch the Hobbit films.
Hobbit movies aren't that bad.No, they're not that bad, but a lot of it is really unnecessary filler. You can literally cut 40-45% of the runtime and have a better movie. The Hobbit should have been two movies of 120-150 mins each, not three movies of 150-180 minutes each.
So very much this. There was perhaps about half of a good movie in that entire Hobbit trilogy. Once they started having a looney tunes style gag sequence in the barrels going over the waterfall I knew that was it, the hobbit movies were a lost cause. There's nothing really wrong with that sequence. It's overblown, but it fits right in with the fact that (even from the source) The Hobbit is supposed to be more child friendly than TLotR.
