Fun book. Felt like Higurashi/Umineko meets Zero Escape.

I'm ~175 pages in and it's incredible so far. Umineko/Zero Escape as a descriptor fits perfectly, especially because of the plague doctor

also has shades of dr who in a weird way

I started The Devil and the Dark Water the other day. It doesn't grab you right away like Evelyn Hardcastle does, but I'm intrigued so far.
instead of eating lunch at work, i read 75 more pages of the book

just wrote myself the burning glove note

i'm so hooked

That was wild

I didn't spend much time trying to come up with my own guesses for things because honestly I didn't even know where to start, and that was quite frankly an incredible grand reveal.

I was struggling to figure out how Felicity fit into things and when Evelyn revealed herself I was kind of taken aback. I also really appreciated how literally the entire plot and every assumption is kind of undone at the end when you find out it wasn't even Helena who killed Thomas. I also really appreciated how it didn't overcomplicate the whole metaworld aspect of things.

Excellent read

glad you liked it! i think the narrator's true identity was a bit of a letdown, but loved everything surrounding the actual villain reveal
