For some reason I thought if you changed Griever's name it didn't actually reflect in the battle.I swear this happened to me on my very first playthrough on PS1 disk. I remember being disappointed that it was still called Griever in final battle. But every single time I have played through since then its name changed to whatever I called the ring. Very strange
