MMBN + Slay the spire would normally be right up my alley but I don't like this game's style very much so I feel kinda lukewarm
Yeah not the biggest fan of the style, but man that gameplay looks fun.

Anyone get a chance to play this yet?

did 1 run, i may have made a mistake building the deck around the cards that destroy my field (and their field too)
does anyone even read this
also i like how there's an option to focus on certain elements so it's not just RNG hoping not only to get the best cards for a certain play style but to get any of them, unlike Slay the Spire where you might be trying to go for a poison Silent build and then after the first floor you stop getting poison cards
does anyone even read this
ugh will i cave

After 1 run, feels like a game I'm going to love but I'm gonna wait for YouTube tutorials.

I caved and bought this even though I have way too many games to play. After 3 hours I can say that this game is pretty awesome.

complete rip-off of both MMBN and slay the spire
great game ill probably pour 100+ hours into this

it's really just a better version of the Slay The Spire. it's like everything i wanted that game to be.

This game is super fast paced, I figured it would have more turn based elements but nope you can move around anytime you want, and fire off spells etc.. as often as you have mana.

Depends if you love card based action where both players can consider their moves then Slay the Spire is that, meanwhile this game is pretty damn fast paced and plays more like a twitch shooter than a tactical game.
Strongest deck I've made so far was a flow deck with that earth card that adds another copy to your deck if you have flow. I upgraded it to add vulnerable and half mana cost so if it was the last card in my deck and I had flow I could spam it infinitely. I also had an empower card that increased the damage of the other card that was slotted so it was doing quite a bit of damage.

I still couldn't beat it but I made it to the last boss before the final area I think.

True, but theres no both players in Slay The Spire. To me, that makes for a more boring game where you mostly just watch shit happen. One Step From Eden is like if they added in actual game to Slay The Spire. And the game is Mega Man Battle Network!

im a really basic gamer. i like games that are fun to move around and do shit in. and i love roguelikes, and i love MMBN, so this games pretty great. i really dont have a reason to play Slay The Spire ever again with this lovely rip-off

Yeah my biggest gripe about Slay the Spire is that everything feels so reactionary. It almost feels more like a puzzle game than a card game sometimes. But then you get screwed by a boss that completely shuts down your entire strategy and there's nothing you can do. I don't appreciate roguelites where some runs are just objectively not winnable with the tools that you've been given.

There are games where you're making constant progression like Hades or Rogue Legacy where I think it's okay but the constant progression in a deckbuilding game is just more cards/artifacts. Some of those new cards aren't even good!

That being said I think both games are great and I don't think they really exist in the same space for me. It's not like I'm giving up Fortnite to play Apex; Eden and Spire are completely different experiences to me.

Totally agree.
And i understand still liking Spire. To me, this game scratches the same itch Spire does while scratching other, itchier itches at the same time.

Yeah I'd suggest skipping most cards unless it fits into a specific build you're doing in Eden. Keep it really simple like frost, fire, turrets, flow or something like that. My first few runs I had like 20+ card decks and it felt like I was just spamming everything. You can actually afford to play a little slower than it seems. The gameplay is fast but unless there's a medic or a treasure box on the field you can slow down and take your time just dodging.

I don't know how far everyone else has gotten but my runs keep getting ruined by the musician girl boss. She has a move where she randomly drops attacks all over and then she sends a giant 5x5 attack that seems unavoidable. Has anyone been able to dodge/stop that move? There's no guides anywhere yet so I'm really at a loss whenever I'm up against her.

Yeah I had considered that you're not supposed to dodge her dance attacks, that makes a lot of sense. Her and the priestess boss are the only two who are really giving me any trouble right now.
skull
i can make it to like the 4th floor just taking random cards and fucking around, so i figure with synergies and actual skill/understanding it should be pretty straightforward and intuitive
i just want some more characters and online pvp
Esto es el fin, Grande Padre
I have most of the characters unlocked and I'm glad they all feel pretty different. The dancing girl's gimmick is ridiculous
skull
lol they already nerfed Rock Cycle so you can't spam it indefinitely if it's the last spell in your deck
