If you strip away all the context, it's kinda ridiculous that after the release of the most popular Resident Evil (which still sells the most among rereleases), Capcom had to spend an entire generation restoring faith and excitement in the series by deconstructing core elements in a mainline entry and remaking games from two decades ago.
