If I can stray from the subject a little- what's the opinion of EO fans on the remakes? Specifically, the idea of a more involved plot greatly appeals to me, but I've seen a few complaints that adding specific characters for that plot to happen to 'ruins the whole point' of an Etrian game.
As I understand it, there is an option to play without the story and treat it more as a straight remake of the original, but... I'd rather not do that unless the story mode really is notably worse than the original.
