Not the same chemical compounds at all from the genetic stance. Parsley is slightly bitter, but nice. It is subtle for me, even if I use a lot. So yes, I like it. It tastes as different to cilantro to me as basil tastes to bourbon, or ketchup to eggs, or strawberries to falafel. That's how crazy the gene discrepancy is.
