mass bumping has always been a violation but it's rarely enforced. even the definition of mass bumping is pretty vague. I think the only time that it really becomes a problem is when the same topic is bumped a bunch of times without any discussion taking place?
board 8 is also pretty unique in that we try to keep single topics alive for a very long time and sometimes there are periods without much discussion. it's actually pretty typical to have random "filler" messages or even ones that just say "bump" appear every day for a while.
I think the issue would be more if the topic was being bumped every hour or something? maybe even every 15 minutes?
that being said someone on the same usermap using a program to switch between like 50 alts and bump a bunch of topics is a gray area because I think it's a pretty unique situation. who knows what the admin might do about it if they knew or cared.
