I realized what bugs me about Ernst. The one dramatic line later in the song is lifted straight out of Moon Over the Castle.

I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT IT WAS that it was reminding me of this entire time. Thank you for pointing that out.

At least I wasn't the only one. I recognized it the first time I heard the track. I just couldn't place the line and figured, eh, it must be a throwback to some other Falcom song.
