so long as it's a straight match, it'll be well worth the $10 on its own.

of course, so will the 40 minutes of non-stop action in the ME.

and let's not forget...
https://www.rohwrestling.com/connect/blogs/kevin-steen/2012/mar/01/10

I haven't done this in a little while. And I see now that O'Reilly and Cole have decided to write down how they feel as they head into ROH's 10th anniversary show...in the main-event.

Reading their letters has made me realize that perhaps it's time for me to write down how I feel as I head into the same show...NOT in the main-event.

Everyone knows what match should be headlining the show this Sunday. It should be an ROH World Championship match with Davey Richards vs Kevin Steen. There is no denying it. Jim Cornette and the rest of ROH management can play dumb but they know it too. They simply refuse to let it happen because deep down they know what everyone else knows as well...when that match happens, I will become the most unlikely ROH World Champion ever.

But please, don't get me wrong, I'm very excited for this Sunday. It actually seems fitting that on a date such as this, I be stepping into the ring for a war with Jimmy Jacobs.
You see, Jimmy and I were good friends for a long time. We've even spent countless days and nights talking about ROH, wrestling in general, our careers, our lives, our future, etc...

Of course we don't exactly see eye-to-eye anymore but I'm glad that I will be able to share that special occasion with someone I'm close with. Because Jimmy, regardless of what you want to admit to yourself, we are much closer than you let on. Because you still have that darkness inside of you. Deny it all you want, it's there...the same darkness I have. The darkness that comes from having an entire company against you. The darkness that comes from being pushed out, and then being kept out, simpy because you don't ''fit in'' with the vision of the high-and-mighty corporate tools that run the circus.

Yet here we find ourselves...getting ready for a fight that will most likely leave us with memories that will haunt us for the rest of our careers...

Happy anniversary, Jimmy. It's time to celebrate.

But forget the champagne...

This Sunday, we celebrate with blood.

XOXO
Kevin

You are an awful person. They are, by far, the most entertaining thing in American wrestling, and will deliver a match much better than that mess of a main event.

if you need to be sold on it...

davey's one of the best, eddie's one of the best, kyle and adam are both rather new. adam's trying to get a name for himself and may be roh's breakout star of 2012. this match though is basically 3 guys who have KICKDEATH all KENTA style and 1 guy who's an outlier but really good.

briscoes are the briscoes, one of the best tag teams in the world. young bucks are the the hardys who found a time machine.

kevin steen is evil.
jimmy jacobs was evil.
no dq match. should be fun.
you know haas and benjamin from wwe. ANX meanwhile has 1 guy who's alright (Titus) and another who's pretty great (King). should definitely be an enjoyable match, if for no other reason, wgtt is being full on heel these days and areans have gotten to hate them.

PREDICTIONS:

From: Wanglicious | #001
Special Attraction
"The Notorious 187" Homicide vs. "The Prodigy" Mike Bennett w/ Brutal Bob & Maria Kanellis

Mike Bennett will somehow, some way, pull out a victory thanks to his entourage. Gotta keep him strong for the upcoming match with Lance Storm!

“Glory By Honor X” Tag Team Rematch
Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team (Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin) vs. The All Night Express (Rhett Titus & Kenny King)

This one is tough to predict. WGTT have a title shot set for the WM Weekend shows, but ANX also have a title shot in the bank that has yet to be scheduled. I predict Wrestling's Greatest Tag Team cement their heelish ways by targeting Titus's leg, and ride that to victory. I wouldn't be shocked to see them get cocky in their dominance and lose by fluke roll-up though.

Special Attraction Tag Team Match
The Amazing Red & "Technical Lightning" TJ Perkins vs. The House of Truth ("Unbreakable" Michael Elgin & Roderick Strong) w/ Truth Martini

Elgin and Strong both have title shots upcoming so I can't imagine the little guys are there to do anything but make Elgin look like a BEAST. House of Truth win.

NO DQ - Grudge Match
Jimmy Jacobs takes on "Wrestling's Worst Nightmare" Kevin Steen

This could be the MotN if they book it right, and from a character standpoint it's very interesting to see how the "reformed" Jimmy Jacobs handles things. He said on a recent video wire that he was going to fight Evil with Evil, but Corino says that he will talk Jimmy out of that. Should be a bloodbath. Kevin Steen continues to haunt ROH and build towards the inevitable match with Davey Richards that will be the biggest thing in ROH since the Final Countdown tour.

ROH World Television Championship
Jay Lethal defends against "The Dominant Male" Tommaso Ciampa w/ The Embassy LTD

TITLE VS. STREAK. Tommaso Ciampa brings home the gold for the investors of Embassy, Ltd. and we get more delicious overacting from Barrister R.D. Evans. Man I'm booking the heels strong tonight!

ROH World Tag Team Championship
Jay & Mark Briscoe defend against The Young Bucks

But the heel run ends here. The Briscoe Brothers are a lock to retain, in a match that has MotN potential. The Briscoes ARE ROH, and it just doesn't make sense for the Bucks to be the ones defending against WGTT at the WM Weekend PPVs, and it makes even LESS sense for them to be the ones defending the titles against CHIKARA at Synergy, given that they're frequent CHIKARA guest stars (and also that the Briscoes started the whole angle!). The Bucks stop here, which will allow for the rematch with ANX at Showdown in the Sun, presumably.

Main Event
“Young Wolves Rising”
ROH World Champion Davey Richards & Kyle O'Reilly vs. "Die Hard" Eddie Edwards & Adam Cole

This is the toughest match to predict on the card, but I will go with Team Ambition , Davey Richards and Kyle O'Reilly. I have a hunch where they're going with this whole Davey Richards thing, and I think it makes the most sense from the most different viewpoints to really get the NYC crowd's dander up by putting Davey over their beloved Eddie Edwards AGAIN, in some fashion. If I had to guess, I would say that the finish will be O'Reilly pinning Cole.

Definitely should be a great show despite the lack of a World Title match, and I highly recommend a purchase!

That's weird, because sabermetrics disagree with people being "clutch" or "choke artists". Maybe Cody actually hates statisticians and that's why he's using it as a heel gimmick!

Imagine if Jesus knew kung fu. That's what everyone is dealing with
What this Sunday represents goes above and beyond “my quest”. What this Sunday is about is bigger than Kyle O’Reilly. It’s bigger than Adam Cole, Eddie Edwards and Davey Richards. This Sunday is about Ring of Honor’s tenth anniversary. For ten years a wrestling company has strived to bring the absolute best wrestling into the limelight. This Sunday is about the fans after ten years, have continued an undying support for a company and a product they believed in. This Sunday is for all of the legends and future legends that have ever stepped foot inside that beautiful red and black ring. For the last ten years anyone that ever sweat, bled and fought tooth and nail for the sport they loved and cared about, and the company that let them do it.

ROH's 10th Anniversary in New York City Sunday, March 4th, 2012, represents wrestling freedom. I plan on paying tribute to a company that made such a great impression on me that I strived to pursue my dream at all costs. Davey Richards, Adam Cole, Eddie Edwards and myself will all pay homage to Ring of Honor this Sunday, and we will all do it by completely destroying and dismantling each other, proudly and with honor.

Sunday is the biggest moment in my life and words can never express the true feeling I have inside.

Kyle O’Reilly

The King Wang.
Listen up Urinal Cake. I already have something that tells me if I'm too drunk when I pee on it: My friends. - Colbert.
let's hype the ME. this is what Kyle O'Reilly said.

The era of Honor began when I was 15 years old. Pro-wrestling was still a distant dream waiting to be conquered. I had no idea that one cold February night something special had just been created and witnessed, inspiring a new generation of wrestlers to change the dynamics and perceptions of an industry. It would be a couple years later when I would stumble upon a DVD that I still own to this day. “ROH: The Era of Honor Begins.”

A DVD that would change me and inspire me, opening my mind to what was possible in professional wrestling. I truly believe pro-wrestling to be a sport, an athletic struggle between passionate and gifted athletes. Ring of Honor emphasized this and would continue to grow with this ideal and objective of providing their fans with “an entertaining sport, not sports entertainment.” I believed in the product, that is to say, I still believe. I had always known I wanted to become a professional wrestler. It’s what I was born to do. Now I knew where I wanted to be when this dream would become reality. The seed had been planted and now it had a source of sustenance to maintain its steady growth to become the fruit of my labor.

It has been 5 years since I laced up my boots for my first match. I had trained and wrestled at every possible opportunity with the sole purpose of improving and advancing. I had outgrown my comfort zone, no longer would I be a big fish in a small pond. I remember getting in my car and beginning the solo trek from the Pacific west coast to St. Louis, Missouri. 33 hours to reflect and remind myself that I was in this for the long haul. If I truly wanted this, I had to go out and grab it.

“C’mon Kyle!” Davey Richards’ persistent, demanding voice brings me back to reality. “10 more!” I unleash another devastating Thai kick to the unforgiving solid leather. My shins are screaming, I know it’s the nerve endings dying. Nine more thunderous cracks echo throughout the gym at 6:37 am. I am gaining self-satisfaction though this never-ending labyrinth of a training regimen. I know every black eye, bloody nose and aching joint is just another exclamation point in my quest. I must truly believe I’m earning my spot to call myself a member of the Ring of Honor roster. I owe everything I’ve gained in the last 2 years since moving my life to St. Louis to Davey Richards.

Now…here I am under a week away from what now is the biggest match of my career, and I feel a sense of intervening destiny. Along with my friend and mentor Davey Richards. I have to beat Eddie Edwards and Adam Cole.

I’ve been trying to wrap my head around how I’m going to look at Adam Cole this Sunday. Adam Cole has always had my back, and stood next to me proudly in victory and defeat. I have to accept the fact that this Sunday he will not have my back, I have to accept that things have forever been changed. I must walk into the ring with the full intention of destroying him. That will be me showing him every ounce of respect that he deserves. I know how dangerous Adam Cole is and what he’s capable of. If I don’t exhaust every last bit of my energy into pounding his face into the mat, then I am doing him an injustice. I’d be disrespecting the warrior and athlete I know him to be, setting myself up for him to do the same thing to me. Code of Honor before and after the match, but in between those two bells, Adam Cole will be the worst enemy I’ve ever had. Here we are Adam, we both stand, backs against the wall, facing each other in a narrow corridor. Nose to nose, eye to eye, fist to jaw, foot to chest, elbow to neck, back to mat, 1 to 3.

and then you have his partner...

Anytime an anniversary arrives at your feet, you naturally think of the past. You go back and think of all the memories that were shared, and all the memories soon to come. You can't believe how much time has passed you, and how quickly you've arrived at your destination. In my case, on March 4th in New York City, I haven't arrived at my destination. Adam Cole has arrived at his destiny.

Ring of Honor means everything to me. Everything that this company has built, everything this company stands for, is something I believe in. I wake up every day and am so proud to call myself a Ring of Honor competitor. But naturally, being a Ring of Honor wrestler means that you work harder than anyone else. You don't strive for "pretty good" or "mediocre." You strive to be the absolute best. So although I've had the privilege to be apart of this company over the past year and a half, it wasn't good enough for me. I knew that if I had the chance to show everyone in ROH what I'm truly capable of, what Adam Cole is really made of, that I wouldn't disappoint. Well after all the hard work, all the sacrifice, all the hope and prayer that I'd get my shot...it looks like March 4th is put up or shut up time.

To be in the main event of Ring of Honor's Ten Year Anniversary is something that I really can't put into words. Year after year, this company has shown time and time again exactly why we are referred to as "the best in the world." As a matter of fact, ROH's story is somewhat of an underdog story. The little "wrestling company" that could, has turned into the best wrestling company on the planet. No matter how many said it wouldn't make it, ROH pushed forward and didn't take no for an answer. It fought with everything it had, to show each and every person out there that ROH was here to stay. How poetic is it that I find myself in this company's shoes on the biggest day in this company's existence?

The issue between the ROH World Champion Davey Richards, my partner March 4th Eddie Edwards, and my former partner in Future Shock, Kyle O'Reilly, has escalated to an all-time high. The issue of loyalty, the issue of friendship and trust, has all come to a head. I on the other hand, am the dark horse in this situation. I'm the guy that everyone overlooks, I'm the one that no one believes in...I'm the underdog...

That was until Eddie Edwards came along, and stood by my side and told me, that I do have what it takes. He's allowed me to realize that I'm truly capable of great things within this company, with or without Kyle O'Reilly. I couldn't be happier knowing that I truly have someone by my side going into the biggest match of my life, and he happens to be the only triple crown winner in this company's history, Eddie Edwards.

What is March 4? What is ROH's Ten Year Anniversary? To me, it's everything. It's finally, after four years of wrestling in this industry, MY shot. It's my chance to prove to everyone that I have what it takes. It's my chance to show the world that this underdog should not be overlooked. It's my chance to move up the ladder and cement myself in the annals of Ring of Honor history. It is...my destiny.

ADAM COLE

I have used this analogy before, but I believe it now more than ever.

Since Best in the World last June, ROH's incredible momentum they had through 2010 into 2011 reached its climax, and ever since, it has largely stalled.

A lot of people (including myself) have called the promotion's product since that time lackluster, sparse, and underwhelming. There's a lot of truth to that.

But one thing they have done is set up an elaborate, glorious, path of dominoes that leads to something really special at Final Battle.

Tomorrow, the first dominoes fall.
