Like didn't Apple arbitrarily skip an iPhone number?
Firefox was on a compressed update scheme until Chrome got super popular now Firefox is up to some really high version number.
Chrome is also on some really high version number itself.

Funny enough, it was the iPhone 9 that got skipped, although it wasn't the 9th iPhone even if you ignore the pluses and SEs.

Sometimes it kinda makes sense, like Chicago (the band) counted a live album as their fourth, and a compilation as their ninth, and a handful of other oddities, which ok I guess, but now when you look them up on wikipedia, it's like
