Well, it worked out for him last time when he was accused of covering up SA. However, last time, the girl who claimed that he was covering up SA just jumped to a conclusion and was weaponizing it.
This time, you have a victim with no apparent history of lying about abuse (not that the prior accuser had that either), isn't making up lies and trying to play them off as jokes, has not been shown to be gaining anything from this, is not jumping to any conclusion as far as I saw, and he, himself, has acknowledged many of these claims.
I don't know what the angle is here, but it just looks like desperation. He lost the court of public opinion by a mile. I'm guessing he hopes that if someone messes up on a technicality, he can try the angle of "even the court agreed with me", like Dr Disrespect did.
