X-Men evo was decent but imo the best Xmen material is the 3 Wolverine movies

Origins -> the wolverine -> Logan was a legendary run

i cant say that about Logan because of the end and depressingness of the whole movie but its still good. i think Blade or Spider-Man is the best. for some reason I dont count TDK despite being the greatest movie ever

I will say it's probably the best example of reinterpreting a series into a high school setting that I can think of. It works shockingly well for how often that sort of attempt fails.

Although it does get credit for having by far the best four horsemen in an apocalypse arc compared to pretty much every other cartoon. The four horsemen in X-Men 97 were largely a bunch of nobodies, but when you saw who got picked in evolution you really did feel like maybe they are doomed.

also them being mutants as a secret for the first 2 seasons let them have a normal life

which then came crashing down around them

their "friends" all turning on them

it hits much harder to have a normal life before suddenly bigotry ruins it

There is this one random x-men evolution scene that had me cracking up when I originally seen it. For years it was a inside joke among my brother and I since he is the only one who knew what the hell I was referencing every time I did that pose while wearing sunglasses on a couch or something.

I eventually went and got the series just so I can take the snapshots on my PC.

Yeah, the order I posted these screenshots in is the exact way the animation played out. Scott sits next to jean, crosses his legs for a quick second, uncrosses them, and then leans back on the bench. Finally, he leaves his mouth hanging open as jean walks away. It was just so weird, lmao.

But yeah I really enjoyed x-men evolution, and I so wanted a new season going off of that final teaser shot of the cast being a little older. Also phoenix.

Of course this show's biggest contribution to the X-Men legacy was the introduction of X-23. She was popular enough that she got brought into the comics.

i love X-23

it would have been so easy for her to just be a next generation spin off cloen of wolverine

but she is very much her own character while sharing her fathers abilities (and she does not really fight like her dad)

It fucks up the age dynamics for too many people to properly represent anything called X-Men. Scott and Jean should have been young teachers at least, not other teenage students.

What is a "proper xmen representation" at this point? Have you seen what the comics have been doing the last decade or so? The whole "all new" arc had teen cyke and Jean right there next to adult xmen just like in evolution. Kid Jean outed Bobby as gay so hard even he didn't know it. Everyone is dead and replaced by clones. Beast was written so poorly they retconned like 30 years of development to fix him.

Teenagers in a throple with Wolverine and fighting a much older Storm for leadership position is just too bizarre.

Or outside of X-Men, any adaptation of Spider-Man would have to include the web head going to an alien planet with other heroes and villains to set up Venom.

Plus Apocalypse or anyone else. The character is arguably at his best in a shorter adaptation or continuum where you have room to disregard the usual editorial mandates.

As such you can build Apocalypse up give him some victories then a permanent defeat VS him losing often yet the series still claiming he is the fiercest for they have. Says a lot that he is more impressive in well the 90s Age of Apocalypse.

The "All New" era is also referred to as the "lost decade" in the Krakoa era because it's irrelevant and nobody cares about it. Was just filling time for X-Men to be away from Fox again. It does not represent anything X-Men is known for.

all new wolverine was pretty good for x-23 and i believe the stuff it itnroduced is still part of her canon
