A man accused of shooting his neighbor in the Leggett area leading to a search by law enforcement last week is now being held in the Polk County Jail with no bond, according to jail records.
Lee David Strole, 39, is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Records show hes also being held on an aggravated assault of a family member warrant out of Harris County.
Polk County sheriffs deputies got called to a shooting on Wilson Road on Oct. 15 and found the victim with several gunshot wounds, according to court records.
The victim told investigators her neighbor, Strole, shot her in the arm and possibly the back because he was upset she kept feeding her own horse that was kept on his property with permission.
He did not want the horse to get too fat, records state.
Deputies set up a perimeter and with a warrant searched Stroles home, where records indicate they found evidence connected to the shooting.
Strole was found in a wooded area near the home and taken into custody.
The victim survived the shooting but KPRC 2 does not have an update on her condition.
While I understand the technical differences I still on a surface level dont see how shooting someone several times is aggravated assault and not attempted murder. Again I actually get it, yet I dont if you know what I mean.I've never understood it either.
People defend the right to own guns on the basis of fantasies of heroic good guys saving the day. Also suicides. Most gun deaths are suicide.
The reality is people dying because of petty disputes and insane grudges.

A fat horse probably shits twice as much, and this guy was probably stuck cleaning it up.And?

Here's a person that should not have access to firearms.everyone is a red blooded american practicing their 2nd amendment RIGHT right up until they start shooting, then its all "there was no way to foresee johnny the gun hoarder, who loved to scream obscenities and threats at his neighbors, would ever decide to shoot them! thoughts and prayers!"
