Called on my way to work today asking when we could have that second interview she talked about. Showed up after work, only to be told the manager had a family emergency minutes before I arrived. I went to leave and they called me back in and said they could do the interview on camera.

It went really well. I even impressed the manager with some of my responses; I could tell by her reactions. I fucking killed it.

She told me to expect an email with a background check offer and a call on Monday.

To this day I rarely see Circle K ever mentioned but when it is the line "Strange things are afoot at the Circle K" pops into my head and it has popped into my head every time since 1989.

night might be more quiet, depends on the crime around the area (we're all scared of being robbed by a person).

They were gunna pay $11/hr here (minimum wage is like $7.75 still), hopefully you got a bit better depending on your state!

For my offer they had wanted me to do strictly closing shifts getting out at midnight, full time, didn't seem bad at all

You should really look for factory and warehouse work. Then it wont be just 10 hours a week, they dont usually do background checks and they usually pay a bit more than minimum wage. Plus youd have the same schedule each week

Sorry to hear you didn't get the job.

But you showed you have the motivation to apply, do an impromptu interview on camera, and interview well.

That's all positive experience that you can build on, and will make things easier next time. I know it doesn't feel like it, but even trying is an achievement when you are struggling with other stuff.

Yeah. I mean, Im not from the same country as you so I dont know exactly how it works there, but generally speaking, if somebody is threatening suicide, its normally a high priority for emergency services to get them some help.

I speak from bitter experience when I say that not everybody can be saved, but even if it comes to that (and I sincerely hope it wont), you dont want to spend the rest of your life asking yourself if you could have done more.

When I needed worked I literally walked into a local warehouse, asked if I could have a job and was working the next day. It was grunt work, but still

Might not be an option for TC but its what Id do if possible

If you think a person may be suicidal, the number one priority is to get them to a safe place where they can receive care.

You don't have to prove anything or share private conversations. Explain your fears to a healthcare professional and they can make the assessment.

You know how many people committed suicide because of inaction? Stop making excuses, and call someone if you truly feel his life is on the line. You WILL be traumatized if you don't do something, and god forbid something happens to kori.

I still see this as a toxic/co-dependent relationship, so put get him somewhere safe, and get your life on track now, before the choices are taken away form you. I don't want to say it, but Kori has become a burden which you cannot bear.

It's obliviously hurting you both, or you wouldn't be here of all places talking about it. You have to do something that you don't want to, but have to for both your sales.

I haven't talked to kori in like over a year, and now i am worried.

Hes been to five or six mental hospitals. I dont think throwing him in another one for a week is going to do much of anything. If I do this im hoping he will be kept away from me for an indefinite period of time. He needs complete rehabilitation. Nothing less.

No it wont fix him just prevent him from hurting himself in the immediate future.

On the job thing youve been at the retail game a while. It doesnt seem to be working out for you. I get it, I couldnt do that work either. Others have mentioned factory and warehouse work, that isnt a cake walk either but if I ever lost my job I could see myself doing that.

As the saying goes 90% of the job is just showing up on time. You have to show up. No excuses. And as long as you show you can still suck a little bit and keep the job.

But that is what they are there for. You don't have the ability to help him right now. But there are services out there that can.

I'm kinda confused... You did the background check, and still didn't get the job? I've only been semi-following your stories...but what's on your background that's preventing you from work?
Background checks cost money - I've never heard of going through that step without having the job locked.
