The Office fell off so hard towards the end there's no way I'd want to watch a spin off
No, I have zero interest in it and am definitely not subscribing to peacock

It does pickup again when Michael leaves (fucking finally) and James Spader picks up the slack, so worth watching if you haven't seen that season.

But then again it goes back to falling off after in the final season with some bizarre choices in storyline, characterization, and general direction.

Yes. It is a good show, it definitely gets better as it goes on, but 10 episodes just isn't enough. By the end they get some serious wins and it feels like it was just way too fast.

It feels more like Parks and Rec than necessarily The Office, which I don't mind as I love Parks and Rec.

IDK why that would be wild. The Office was a great show in its prime but ended on a whimper, this new show is so barely related to it I wouldn't even call it a spinoff. Doesn't really have anything going for it that looks interesting
The Legend is True!
Nah, also no interest.
"Oh man would you just shut up already, how come all you sword guys have to talk about how cool your swords are?"
I've watched the first four episodes. It's got some really funny moments but it's not must watch. It gets more of a groove going after the pilot.

Oscar's trauma when he sees a conference room was pretty funny.
"How can.. the Prime minister.. support a law.. that makes it illegal for people.. who....What I'm trying to say is.. Oasis rules!"
Ill get to it.. eventually. I have SO many other shows I need to catch up on
Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds, along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest.. is silence.
Man I had a brain lapse when I started reading this topic title and I thought it was going to be about the Adam Driver movie but that was "The Report"

It was alright. I was incredibly skeptical about it at first. Especially after a few other shows, like St. Dennis, turned out to be so awful despite having multiple cast members that made me think "This should be good!" Anyway, I gave it a watch and enjoyed it enough that will be checking out the second season, if it gets one.

Next week on Reviewing Men's Restrooms with Corey Feldman, we'll be checking out the restrooms at the Home Depot on 4th street. It's gonna to be wild!

Already confirmed before the first season even came out

Yeah but other shows from The Office group have been amazing like The Good Place, Brooklyn 99, the King of the Hill reboot. I wouldn't put a show that lasted too long against a new show. You should try it out before saying this stuff

I don't think it's a reboot or sequel
I believe in Joe Hendry!!
Michigan Wolverines men's basketball: Big Ten Champions
I hate Steve Carell so my views on The Office are skewed but I really enjoyed The Paper.
Spongebob is not a contraceptive.
I've watched the first few episodes, it's not bad so far.

Oh I really enjoyed St. Denis.

It is absolutely a sequel. The beginning goes over what happened to Dunder Mifflin and everything. Also you know, Oscar being in it and all. It's the same documentary crew as well

St. Denis is okay, new season is out soon or already and I hope they improved it. My biggest sadness is American Auto being cancelled after two seasons. It's legitimately hilarious and way better than St. Denis

I watched the pilot episode and it was alright.
Show me your might! Give me your best shot!
You call this a fight? I said your best shot!
I'll probably watch it eventually. I got a DVD set of the original British version of The Office a while ago, so maybe after whenever I watch through that. Alternatively though I might want to rewatch the American version of The Office first before watching The Paper. Could be a while until I do any of those things though, as I have other stuff as a focus at the moment.
I mean everyone also should remember the first season of stuff like the office and parks and rec are often eh. Good enough. The second seasons always get the tone down more and the characters enough room to grow on you

Omg I know right? Apparently st Denis was the next show from the Superstore creator and clearly meant to be its successor, with similar premise and even reusing actors from the show. But my god it was so unfunny! And the two leads were so damn unlikable, the obligatory will they/won't they was downright cringe, almost reminded me of a cbs comedy rather than one of the good NBC comedies.

I really wanted to like it. But it really did feel like a discount superstore without anything that hooked me. Which worried me that maybe comedies are over, I mean all of them have ended b99, the good place, even modern family. Can't see how these can be topped, tgp was the last unique premise for a comedy I know of.

I watched it and I enjoyed it. I don't have expectations to be blown away by the first season of a show, but if I like it enough I stick with it to see how it goes.

American Auto was his follow up after Superstore but pretty sure that got screwed from the pandemic. Highly, highly recommend watching it. Only two seasons but they are fucking hilarious.

Also there's a new show DMV that I need to check out, it looks promising

I didn't laugh once the first episode and I think I laughed once the second episode and maybe a handful of times the third episode, so it seems to be tracking in the right direction.

I watched the first couple episodes based on your recommendation earlier in the topic-- thanks, I'm enjoying it!

There's a particular episode where they need to reshoot a commercial to make it more diverse and it's just... So funny

Yeah? That's good to hear. The female lead is the same from American Auto and she's funny so I have high hopes. And I mean, Tim Meadows is always funny

...I think I'm done here...
The Paper was pretty good. It's not that I laughed that much, but then I enjoyed the Office and didn't always laugh a lot at that either. Same with Parks and Rec. These shows create, for me, a warm feeling of hanging out with characters you like more so than being outrageously funny all the time. They all HAVE those moments too, don't get me wrong.

Dang man, talk about hidden gem! This reminds me when I was told about mythic quest, and was similarly surprised that this funny show was completely under the radar.
