Oh shit, I totally forgot about this game. I'll try it out later today.
DI MOLTO!
Man, the writing is a riot.
Aaron Paul's acting seemed to find a nice place between Todd and Jesse. Acting like a dick often seemed to give the best outcomes. Punch the reporter.
I cut Batboy and they deserved it, but seemed like there were some major side threads I was missing.
i need to replay the whole game with my partner. Might give everyone their worst stats just to see what happens, like max speed Golem.

I caved and bought it, it was pretty good but there wasnt much gameplay. Im wondering how im ever gonna level my guys up if theres only one dispatch an episode
This is something I've been wondering about too. I wonder if the system is actually a fakeout? Like, midway through things will get shaken up or something.
Cuteness is justice! It's the law.
It's more of an interactive show than a game, right? Like they removed the walking/puzzles that Telltale games had.

There are dispatch segments and hacking minigames sprinkled throughout the episodes. There are also QTEs but you can turn thos off if it's not your thing.

And aside from the first work day I think there's going to be two Dispatches a day. Chapter 3 had the chaos shift and then a better, normal shift. Chapter 4 had the first shift with whoever you cut followed by the first shift with whoever you added.

Has anyone tried getting a really high score on the Dispatches to see if that doesn't prevent you from having to fire someone? I kind of doubt it, but I disliked it when i had a literally perfect first shift and then Chase told me they're all a bunch of fuck ups and "That's the best we can hope for." Like dude. They completed every job flawlessly.

"We need to fire someone to motivate the rest," is awful logic, too.Fire Batboi because he's a useless idiot , don't give people a reason to look elsewhere, even if there options are limited.

So starting from the second shift there's a couple of classes you can put your heroes through to upgrade their perks. Most of these seem to be either A) An improvement on their original talent or B) A new talent. Like I think Coupe had one where you can either make it so her stat bonuses from her default talent are stronger. Or make it so that if she fails a mission she'll auto-re-attempt it.

If Sonar's perk upgrade is the ability to control his Bat Form, that could actually make him an insanely good and versatile hero. Since you could min-max around his Intelligence and Charisma stats to effective max four stats at once. His Flight perk also seemed pretty good, as his can carry other heroes, but it relies on him being in monster form to work.

Me and my wife are doing two completely different runs with each of us picking totally different paths.

For me: I picked to axe out Coupe and keep Sonar (only because he's my main Charisma Intelligence guys), decided to Waifu Invisigal and have Waterboy join the team. My wife decided to do the complete opposite and axe Sonar, waifu Blonde Blazer and have Phenomaman join the team (she kissed Blonde Blazer and told him about it which something unexpected happens that won my wife over to have him join instead of Waterboy lol.

I'm also liking Dispatch sections a lot more...can't say the same about the hacking parts. I dislike the one where you have to guess 7 arrows in a row while having some red thing chase you. I'm looking forward to episode 5 & 6.

I think Flambae would have been an interesting romance option XD

Episode 5 may have been the best yet. The villain bar scene was hella fun and I'm glad the playthrough I'm watching chose for Robert to reveal his identity to the Z-Team which led to some real heartwarming moments of everyone revealing their own first names. Except Flambae who didn't take it well since he lost two fingers to Mecha Man in the past but fuck that guy anyway.

Episode 6 had some the most intense dispatches yet. And damn, that ending...

Yeah... (Major Spoilers) I mean, it's an easy to see 'twist'. Chase is the mentor character and those tend to die to make sure the hero earns their final moment. Plus once the relationship between his speed and his age is revealed it kind of sets him up for a perfect hero moment. I thought he'd be burning up the last of his candle to save Rob though. And damn. The way he posed right before flashing away. That's the image of him that's gonna be burned into my mind. What a legend.

Very good episodes. From Flambae singing, to the bar fight, to the house party, episode 6 having some of the most stress inducing Dispatch segment, and Chase giving his life to save Invisigal. Anyways how much you bet that Royd is the "mole"? He was very quiet during the party and when Invisigal and Chase were fighting. He's also the only one that asked about the Astral Pulse (and one of the few ones that could make it). It's just a theory that doesn't have a lot of merit, but there's definately a mole, otherwise Shroud wouldn't know about it.

What are you on about, there were loads of villains there.

I think Invisigal had the Astral pulse and was the one trying to sell it. When the suit blew up, she claimed to have seen that same type of explosion. Then they tracked the Astral Pulse with from the info she gave them. But how would she have seen those explosions if she wasn't there? Also, if you fail to hack the safe, she opens it anyway and brushes it off like nothing happened. Either Shroud opened it remotely, or she had the combo, but it's suggested that Shroud had no idea the Astral Pulse still existed until then. So, it all lands back at her feet again.

And yeah, I get it, she's the most obvious one to suspect as a traitor, but it all seems to line up. I think the bar scene and how you deal with the team after finally changed her mind.

Wait, she opens the safe anyways? I figure you can get a gameover screen if you don't do those things in the time limit. That definitely changes things and adds credence to your theory more than she's the mole. Probably explains why she was so adamant in getting it that night.

Even though I'm actively playing the game, I'm avoiding these spoilers just in case, lol. But yeah, it's been great, Greta and I just looked at each other after the ending of the last episode, eyes tearing up
Yep. She actually interrupts you hacking it, and it goes like:

Visi: "Forget it, it's open."

Robert: "What? How!?"

Visi: "I don't know, who cares? Its open, that's what matters right?"

Then it plays out the same after that with her checking the case and leaving.
Holy shit DToast sighting!

I definitely think this is playing into Invisigal being the mole/blamed for everything theory just going quickly by the trailer. It looks like things are ramping up like crazy.

At this point she better be the mole or that scene will feel really cheap. That or somehow Shroud just randomly opened it up for her or something.

I don't think Invisigal is bad, I think there's a chance she's the mole, but she pretty clearly wants to do what's right. Someone on the team is DEFINITELY like. A no shit bad guy. Probably someone unexpected.

Just finished it, was pretty good but wish there had of been more dispatch sections, Not that they matter at all, you can literally fail every call and it doesn't change anything. Was pretty good as a movie tho
https://psnprofiles.com/Shuffle666
Finished it earlier, and I very much enjoyed the ending. Felt like most decisions outside the love interest and who gets cut were kinda pointless outside changing the dialogue somewhat though. That aspect was a little disappointing. But overall it was good.
They really saved all the shroud stuff for the last two episodes.
I liked it except the taking your dog hostage works.

I like how the choice of Chapter 3 has completely pointless reverberations throughout the plot. It's a dumb idea to cast out a hero whose genuinely trying their best (especially when, if you get good at the Dispatching, then they've done a really good job actually). It's used to justify cutting Visi even though there's no point to doing that and it's not like Visi even did anything horrible. And then, icing on the cake, BB acts like it was nothing personal and we can just hire them back after doing grade a supervillain shit. What was even the point of the choice then???

Seems like one of the big hidden trackers Is whether Visi decides to pursue heroism over villainy. Most other choices don't actually seem to influence much.

Good story beyond those issues. Looking forward to doing a mirrored play-through where I do mostly the opposite choices.

Yeah it did bother me that the whole point of the phonix program is to reform people and BB goes, yeah so we need to cut one. You can't even argue it.

Kinda bummed that they didn't add an endless mode with Episode 8, the final dispatch sequence showed how it could theoretically be done. But really satisfied with the ending overall aside from the dog hostage , thought that they'd fumble real hard at the finish line but it was pretty great all things considered.

That was excellent, really enjoyed those last two eps. Only real criticism is that it did seem like most choices didn't really matter much, so I guess that's a habit these ex-Telltale devs are continuing at AdHoc lol. But I greatly enjoyed the story, I really hope for a season 2. And now that all the eps are out I'll buy the game and play it myself. 8/10 experience.

While I acknowledge it's impossible to do it on the same level: I feel like living in a post-BG3 world should have shown developers that having choices actually have consequences is not impossible and in fact creates a lot of fun permutations.
