I love how in role-playing game or movie like things its always probably short, pointy-eared elderly men that is responsible for giving the protagonists the maguffin items in our culture. Probably as far back as when gandalf was created in 1937.

Making a cartoon adaption of this japanese role-playing game? Yeah, here is a bunch of old wizardy dudes giving you your stuff when these NPCs was originally probably a fairy lady or somethin'.

Snark aside it kind of fits that they don't use the DQ Hero as most of them are just avatars for the player.

No, the thing that keeps Captain N from doing it right is having to tackle more than one monster and having a team/party. The rest is 1:1.

Something Simon just had before Dragon's Den. Gives someone a dragon scent which in this case allows them to help to relax the baby dragon Puff in the episode.

The baby dragon Puff. As the episode shortly starts, she is the only good dragon not brought under control of the Dragonlord which he tells Mother Brain it's best not to take chances as a baby dragon can be real strong upon adulthood.

And hey, Cooler lost big time for letting baby Kakarot go by, so DL is making a good call even if he didn't succeed. Puff's mother in the two other pics. First her under control and then right after she is freed:

Another Captain N exclusive dragon, Stoop who is working to hatch and empower a golden dragon. Not some major creativity, but the first time any Dragon Warrior/Dragon Quest related story had a gold colored dragon. One such being a form a VIII's bonus boss.

I think Game Boy was made to advertise the not yet available Atari Lynx. That or the SEGA Game Gear?

Shortly after, the Sunstone from DQ (made into a power source for the Palace of Power) which Stoop steals leads to GB who was recently energized keeping the Palace going with his power until the N Team can get the Sunstone back.

Man, just sitting here needing to finish Digimon before DQ comes out and all I need to do is finish the side quests and take on the final boss, but all I can think of is, when is DQ coming out, its it a midnight release?

My copy arrived a day early from Best Buy. Second time it's happened recently but this time I can actually play it today. The last time was with FFT arriving 4 days early but I couldn't play it yet because the Switch 2 Upgrade didn't unlock until release day (technically I could have but it would have had to be the Switch 1 version so I chose to wait)

Yep that's true. Incidentally some or most of you will know that the Famicom version of one had passwords to keep your progress instead of saves.

That bad ending where you can agree to rule with the Dragonlord (remakes just make the outcome a dream where you wake up in Rimuldar) includes a password which I forgot the exact detail, but is one that has you starting off a file poorly.
