New roguelite. It's like...Tetris x block breakers (IDK what the original game was called) with rogue life elements and base building. Only $15 on PSN IDK about anywhere else.
You've buttered your last biscuit, pardner.
I've seen a few clips, looks fun. I'll probably give it a try at some point.

Ive been playing it. Lots of fun, not sure if I'm playing it correctly but I'm understanding it more and more each run. I love that even if you have a bad run, you'll progress because of the base back above ground. Great game to play while listening to a podcast or something.

Yeah it seems the base will definitely play a lot on progress. I've just started and it feels pretty brutal ATM lol. Can only get like 2 levels before I die. Gonna definitely ram my head into this a lot

You get exponentially stronger pretty quick. I bet you'll be steamrolling at least with one character soon

Okay I had my first extended run and it turns out I'm just an idiot lol. I was just going straight north south with my balls but the cooldown with needing to wait for the balls to come back is not worth it. It's better to get side to side bounces and hit a lot of things.
You've buttered your last biscuit, pardner.
I did the same thing my first few runs haha

I also have no idea what the block breaker game was originally called.

I just did my first run with the second unlockable character and wow they feel broken. That was so easy.

I've wanted to play it ever since they showed it on the Nintendo Indie Direct. It looks like my kinda game.
...I think I'm done here...
It really scratches that Vampire Survivors itch but with actually fun new engaging gameplay instead of trying to be another clone. I highly recommend.
You've buttered your last biscuit, pardner.
I personally don't like Vampire Survivors at all. I like the idea, but the game didn't click with me. This is awesome though

League of Legends had a mode that basically copied Vampire Survivors and that was the most fun I've had with this genre. But now this currently is.

Breakout, first released in 1976. It was arguably based on Ramtek's Clean Sweep from 1974, but Clean Sweep plays much differently, as the ball goes through the dots instead of bouncing off of them.

Arkanoid was an early brick breaker, but not sure if its the first technically?

Anyway....Ball x Pit is great.
First level clear and I owe it to the holy lasers. Both laser evos. Any other amazing early game evos or fusions?

What about Ball x Cup? Mexico's favorite toy for over 340 years. Toss the ball, catch it in the cup, dump it out of the cup, toss it, and catch it in the cup again.

I prefer Corn x Cup tbh

Also this game is so addicting. The amount of QoL stuff you unlock is great and sometimes overwhelming lol. But stuff like the ability to literally combine two characters for a run (maybe more since there's an upgrade option?) is genius.

Yeah this game is a serious time sink. You start it and it suddenly becomes dark at night. I recently unlocked all the characters. They all completely change how you play the game. The last one regrettably is kinda lame, but aside from him, the last 7 or so are all peak

Indeed. Love the gimmicks and how they can intertwine. I don't get what upgrading the building that unlocks duos does tho...

In general, the beams are all very good. I never feel bad taking both for the cross beam. Later on, the map wide hitters are all good, like The Sun, because you can attach any status fusion on it and it'll apply that status to everything. Same for beams. Attaching status to AOE pretty much becomes your best dps for every single character

I can't open the game right now, but I think it lets your duo start off with a higher lvl for their base ball

Yeah that seems to be it. Thank you!

I think there was a Dark/Iron combo that made an Assassin ball. It goes through everything from the front but then stays at the back racking up a 30% backstabbing bonus. It basically just keeps doing backstabbing damage to everything from the back while you keep attacking the front. It felt really good.

This game is great by the way

Also, be sure to take egg sack if you ever have any Evolutions that leave things on the field (Magma, Glacier/Swamp) because when the egg sack breaks open, the baby balls that come out all become the field effect as well. It's really good.
Sigs are for losers.
It's on Game Pass. Didn't realize it had Breakout elements, I'll check it out.
Cel Damage! Tonight at 8:00!
They literally have a character that makes the game turn based lmao.

He's one of my favorites. Though occasionally it's impossible to dodge some attacks with him lmao

Also that means you unlocked the Jester looking guy. He's probably OP. I can't even imagine losing with him

Yeah the Juggler. I actually have everyone except the last unit unlocked now. Need hella money cuz I also finally unlocked the buildings that give extra balls/passives/level up choices.

Shieldbearer is one of my favorites because then the game actually feels like breakout lol.

Flash (Light+Lightning) fused with Hemorrhage (Bleed+Iron) is mad fun and might be one of my go tos with how simple it is and how it melts both mobs and bosses.
You've buttered your last biscuit, pardner.
Unlocked The Radical (Solid Snake who plays the game for you). It's funny seeing what choices the computer makes sometimes (I know Cogitator or whatever made choices by itself too) and seeing things actually work out or fizzle out horribly lol
You've buttered your last biscuit, pardner.
I feel like the final boss I'm this game for me is the base building. I make a few fields of resources gathering plots and then after that it's just fuck all free for all lol. I find that gold is becoming my main sink so I make a nice circle near the entrance and then whatever building I need to build or upgrade goes in that circle to harvest/build.

When I get most things upgraded I'll probably sort it out better but right now I'm just mostly overwhelmed lol
You've buttered your last biscuit, pardner.
The Radical is honestly somewhat lame, but it is pretty funny to just leave the game on in the background and hope your base upgrade passives are enough lol. I guess the intent is that it turns the game into an idle game. He bugged out on me once on the ice floor and started sliding endlessly. Not sure what stopped it from perma breaking cuz I was this close to just resetting that run.

I wouldn't worry too much about the base though, cuz later on I mostly use it for money farming and hope the auto farms do the rest for material farming. The other stuff can be arranged in groups, but some of the character builds get passives, and they're the most efficient way to do whatever they do. Like the Tactician's building gives +1 stat to anything that gives flat stats. Those include the infinitely upgradeable stat buildings later on, so you have to surround the Tactician building with 12 whole buildings. That one in particular is very important.

The farm buildings are also worth surrounding in a bunch of whatever field they harvest.

The rest of them should be surrounding the building that gives 30% bonus EXP to character buildings that surround them.

Ok protip cuz I just had this happen. I dunno if this is a Tactician exclusive problem, but if you fuse anything that doesn't pop up in 3 seconds like The Bomb and fuse it onto a field wide AOE, you lose DPS. It does not work with stuff like the Flicker

I just wanted to see if it'll do a field wide bombing, but it just makes your AOE come out far slower and also only bombs whatever it hits rather than the whole field lol. It's basically unusable

I've beaten the final boss a couple times now. Looks like you need to win 4 times for the true ending. I'm actually letting the Radical play right now.

I now have all buildings built.
How does trade-in value work in the marketplace? Does it actually react to supply/demand? I thought rocks sold for a lot more before, but now they seem to sell 1:1 with gold.
Yes, you need 8-10 unique chars I think? It's really worth doing cuz that's not the end of the game

Not too sure how the trade-in values work. Generally it's only useful for selling surplus, even if they drop to 1 coin in value

Yeah Tactician is a bit finicky. I've mainly been using him with Radical for some afk runs just to get Tac leveled and get some level clears.

Flash, Flicker and Maggot are great enablers. Works great with Hemorrhage (bossing) or Holy Lasers. Nuke too but I get impatient since it's a three parter lol

My only tip is DO NOT use the upgrade that allows balls to go through the bricks. All the balls will get stuck in the back row and you will die.

Tried the demo on steam. It's fun but I'll wait on a sale or something

I remember picking that early on and was fast on the nope lol. Even Shade (character who's balls come from the back) is one of my least used because I can't get a hang of the aim for it

Yeah the pierce til the back hit upgrade is only good if you're confident in your build. Sometimes it can be your best upgrade.

If you got the Ninja for instance, it's just free dmg bonus

Also the game has always been a bit easy, but the late game stuff can actually start kicking your ass to the point where I started taking some defensive passive

Yeah the second to last stage I was walled for a bit until I started building my base more.

Watching auto runs with the radical is so fun. Like y'all said before, absolutely sucks ass with pathing sometimes jumping into lava pools and such. But other times they'll literally single pixel dodge things like a god lol

Turning the game into idle is honestly the funniest thing in the world. Also I think he just has really high base stat? I swear he started just clearing tiers of difficulty I had trouble with.

Yeah there's a small gap in the early part where it's slow, and then you'll find it too fast lmao. They definitely could've moved a couple of the later buildings up a bit

Just put the game on 3x speed and never look back and just learn to dodge well, since everything is pretty dodgeable.

Also you might not mind putting on the player hitbox dot. It looks goofy but I think it's a good QoL later on.

Indeed.

After clearing stages for the first time, you can also increase the "speed" of the stage, or rather duration called Fast and it can increase to...I think Fast 9? You'll see the toggle on stage select.
