Jeffries calls Johnson's bluff, Johnson backs out of "debate"

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Wednesday walked back his agreement to debate House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) on C-SPANs Ceasefire program.
Johnson originally told the network hed love to debate Jeffries on air but later said the agreement was conditional.

Ill debate Hakeem Jeffries anywhere, anytime as soon as we get the government open, Johnson told Fox NewssAmerica Reports anchor Sandra Smith.
Hes engaging in political theater and stating absurd things, he added.
Last week, Jeffries challenged Johnson to a prime-time televised debate in an offer that the Louisiana Republican quickly rejected.
Given the urgency of the moment and the Republican refusal to negotiate a bipartisan agreement, a debate on the House Floor will provide the American people with the transparency they deserve, Jeffries wrote in an open letter to Johnson last Monday.

I dont get how people are backing the republicans right now, they are basically saying:

"We will consider negotiating after you comepletely give in to all of our demands. Then we MIGHT negotiate. Also this is all YOUR fault that WE refuse to negotiate."

Isn't Johnson the guy who shares his porn viewing habits with his son?

I think it's more like they check each other's browsing history to make sure neither of them are watching porn.
