Kiwami is a remake/remaster of the older titles.

Kiwami is incredibly similar to Yakuza 0 in terms of combat styles, so if you enjoyed 0's combat system you should like Kiwami's.

Kiwami 2 has different combat from 0/Kiwami so it might be jarring if you play K->K2 back to back.

it's worth it imo.

note the remaster versions of 3 through 5 are the hardest in the series to plat because of reasons (then again they aren't the kiwami versions) maybe it doesn't apply to criteria.

If you like 0, 7, 8, then I'd certainly suggest you take the time to get back into the Kiwami remakes.

Yes, but Kiwami 1 is kinda meh compared to 2 (or any other entry for that matter).

Absolutely. Both give you the excellent storylines of the original games and add in a bunch of cut content and new stuff to do. The originals were like 8 hours long and the Kiwanis versions are maybe 30-40 and don't wear our their welcome.

Also both make it really easy to do everything like substrates and side content. The originals were notorious for making substories really hard to trigger.
