Mass Effect Trilogy is one of my favorite game experiences of all time, and 2 is the best of the trilogy. Heck yes I like it.

It is my least favorite of the trilogy. But it is a bit borderline to say whether I like/dislike/am indifferent to it.

People prefer 1 for the wider-spread story (2 is more self-contained), the skill trees, and the more open exploration. Also some prefer the individual power cool downs over universal.

The first one was actually an rpg. Many of the rpg elements were removed in 2 and while 3 added some back in it still wasn't what I would consider a full rpg.

I didn't like the change to the ammo system, I didn't like the combat stage set-up, I didn't like the removal of the Mako and planet exploration, and I just didn't really like the story. I felt like 1 was working up to something grand and then 2 was just an extended errand run to learn about your crew members and make them happy.

I got bored and couldn't even finish it :(

I prefer both 1 and 3 to 2.

Don't get me wrong, 2 is still, absolutely, a great game. But it loses out on world-building to 1, and it loses out on gameplay to 3. So I have to say it's my least favorite of the trilogy, but only by the slimmest of margins.

The first game is far and away my favorite but 2 is still a great game. As mentioned though, with the whole trilogy in mind, the Collectors didn't deserve their own game and I think 3 suffered for it.

Yeah top 10/fringe top 10 game of all time for me. 2 and 3 were both great, 1 and A were alright.

I do not have high hopes for the new entry though.

1 (despite the fucking Mako)>2>3

And goddammit now Im planning another play-through.

the Mako is more fun to use in the Legendary Edition, IMO.

I used to go around saying this game is as close to perfect as a game could get. I probably don't feel that way anymore, but I do love the game.

Agreed. Mass Effect 2 has good characters, good moments with those characters, good gameplay for what it's going for, but at the end of the day the story is a big nothing burger that causes 3 to shit itself picking up the slack
