Immigration judge orders Mahmoud Khalil deported

An immigration judge in Louisiana has ordered pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, a legal permanent resident of the U.S., deported to Syria or Algeria for failing to disclose certain information on his green card application, according to documents filed in federal court Wednesday by his lawyers.
Khalils lawyers suggested in a filing that they intend to appeal the deportation order, but expressed concern that the appeal process will likely be swift and unfavorable.

What i want to know is why are Republicans ok with the government being able to take your spouse away. See, basically this means even if you are married to a citizen, you can be deported. Which means from the point of view of the member of the couple who is a citizen, the government can legally banish your husband/wife

Which you'd think woukd be seen as a big civil rights violation.
