The Pokmon Company is doing this social media thing where everyone is hypnotized to love Malamar. Its a promotion for Z-A because Mega Malamar is getting revealed soon. Bulbapedia is just joining in on the joke.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to make sense.

Showdown is doing it too. Coincidentally I almost got swept by a Malamar in ranbats earlier but I got bailed out by a lucky crit.
Look, I can name a few instances in MY life where I tried to reach mutual understanding
