Releasing tomorrow. I just downloaded the demo and played it a bit. Like it feels like a video game video game if that makes sense, lol. One of those type of video games I would have rented from block buster or hollywood video on friday for the weekend on my SNES, genesis or PS1 and actually have fun playing it before taking it back that coming sunday.

You can play through the entire story alone or right from the beginning it supports up to 2 other players for the entire campaign. These smaller online capable games is something I have always liked. (Stuff like champions of norrath return to arms, ragnarok odyssey ace, dragon's crown etc.).

I like the fact that you can create your character. I made my lady look pretty nuts, so that is neat.

At the same time, it does feel a little off that this is 70 dollars. It feels more like a 50 dollar game. It doesn't have top of the line graphics (which is totally fine. We need so many more of these AA type of games), and the performance feels.....off? There is no sort of graphics preference or performance preference that I can see, at least on the PS5 pro anyway, and I swear the game was doing like this occasional skip. I don't know its weird.

I really want to support this game since its my type of game, but the 70 dollars does feel a little much. (and there is some other stuff I was getting this month like trials in the sky, silent hill and borderlands).

Wish this one instead dropped in july or something like that.

I really wanted to like the first one, but it just never grabbed me the same way Armored Core did

Doesn't help that it's world/story is barely intelligible and conveyed almost entirely through anime tropes while also trying to be deeper than it is
Doesn't take a lot of brains to be a good fighter.

Yeah I didn't care too much for the first one either. They tried to do a anime episode type of thing but it was in no way actually coherent.

Part 2/this game is doing a more traditional type of jrpg story and has supposedly really improved on that aspect of the game.

Ah screw it I just committed to buying this thing, lol.

Well I'll see how it goes with this game.

I'm guessing they had to keep the budget low because mecha has always been a niche genre. I'm pretty sure a good chunk of the armored core 6 sales were more about fromsoft hype than genuine mecha fans.

either way, I'm getting it. I mean yeah $70 is probably a little much for what it is but there's just not enough games like this.
Allmind exists for all mercenaries.
I like the game's style, but the demo really put me off. Combat had no feeling to it, and I hated that I could only adjust my equipment at base. I picked up a weapon that I assigned to the wrong attack button, and I couldn't swap it to a different slot until I was at base. That just seems wrong for a game focused on loot.
Man. I would have kept my pre-order for this game, but I completely forgot I had a ninja gaiden ragebound physical that is dropping on september 12th, the exact same day borderlands 4 is releasing and I also have pre-ordered. I had to cancel the daemon x machina pre-order =( (Because like I mentioned before I also got legends of heroes trials in the sky and silent hill f also. This month is just packed with releases I was getting).

*I noticed that sony actually added a pre-order refund thing in the transaction history. As long as the game has not been downloaded yet. If the download started then you have to do it the old-fashioned way via PSN support.*

Hopefully this game is a good one because having more mech games never hurt. I'll just have to put this one on my wishlist and pick it up down the road at some point.

There are supply bases scattered in the world that you need to activate first, by finding, buying or developing a supply base unit, in order to change weapons and armors without having to go back to base.

I do admit that this game isnt for everyone. Getting used to the combat system and controls takes some time to adjust to. But I have enjoyed farming, customizing different equipment, and facing two of the demos roaming bosses. I cant wait to play the full game tomorrow.
RIP George Lowe
Cant believe this game got a sequel

first game was enjoyable enough but seemed doomed to obscurity so Im not sure why theyd resurrect the name six years later
