Perhaps it made sense in context but that interview scene they showed ahead of time where Lois is like "ha everyone hates you" and he's all like "HOW DARE THEY I'M A PARAGOOOOOON" was pretty much as out of character to me as anything else in the last like 20 years of abominable Superman adaptations.

I like how this new movie portrays him as a good person, but hes still flawed. Hes shown to have a bit of a temper and also not take criticism well. That doesnt mean he doesnt try though

That scene works in the context of the film when you know what Lois is actually criticizing him for. You can also understand Clarks POV as well and why hes so defensive of his actions
