I finally beat Hades (spoilers, just in case)

Kinda surprised that I was only on run 42 when it happened, felt like I was in the 60s or 70s at that point. Not all that surprising that the Fists were the weapon I used to beat him the first time, since they kicked all kinds of ass with even a decent setup.

I had pretty much every single boon line up just about perfectly: doom on attack, water knockback on special, reflect on dash and cast, Poseidon on call...and I still just barely managed to beat the fucker by the skin of my teeth with a last-second call.

I managed to beat him a couple more times since then (spear and gun). I'm starting to wonder when and if the story ever comes to any kind of definitive conclusion, lol.

I think it takes about 6-10 complete runs to unlock the real ending, and then there's a secret bonus ending that requires a lot more work.

Now play Hades 2.

as far as I know, each run for the next like, 200 runs adds a single line of dialog

so I tapped out shortly after the real ending at 10-ish runs

Twin fists, nice. I beat it first time with the twin fists too

Yeah, I always felt the fists were overpowered. Grab the magnet power up and uppercut stunlock everything except the bosses.

Also the boon that gives aoe hit when you land, can literally start spamming the special for the whole run

The actual ending is Persephone comes back to Hades with you and Zag, Cerb, Hades, and Persephone get a badass family portrait. It's a lovely drift down the river Styx . Just clear it a few times and it should happen.

There's also some post game activity where you have a Olympic Family Reunion and Zeus and the fam all have a party and Demeter and Hades make a rough peace.

After that it's just slowly making the game harder on yourself via hell pacts (also unlocking way more Titan's Blood and Diamonds) as you max out your weapons and then do your best. I think there's an achievement for beating a run on Heat 32.
