sonic has his version of the invincibility power up. They both are are running towards an enemy and accidentally crash into each other

Sonic would probably get knocked backwards but not lose any rings. That's generally what happens when he hits an invincible enemy in an invincible state.

Sonic would get knocked back, but other than that, nothing. He wouldn't lose any rings from the blow (aside from the gradual loss he suffers by default from being in his Super Sonic form).

If it's Super Sonic, then he'd probably get knocked back but not hurt. If it's just Sonic with an invincibility power up from a capsule, then idk. They'd probably just smack into each other like running into a wall.
