Does RWBY stand for anything? I read that entire thing and no where in there did they actually give a name so I'm guessing it maybe isn't an acronym? Just mild curiosity.Red

Red
White
Black
Yellow
it's also the first initials of the team members names
Ruby
Weiss
Blake
Yang
i believe there were other teams that had different acronyms like JNPR and CRDL (i think)
i stopped at season 6 just due to a lot of life factors, i should probably pick it back up again.

RWBY is such a weird show to me, given how I came into watching it, how much I liked it to the point I still name a lot of my game characters after RWBY ones, contrasting how I just don't care about it anymore (at least, canon) :(
It's hard to really pin down exactly why, but RWBY feels like it's only truly on its 3rd season, if that, and the long time spans from when I started watching to now aren't really helping matters. Cinder and Ruby are the only characters whose stories I'm personally invested in, and even that there's not too much room to breathe in later episodes for characters. Last season I watched (8th) just finally hit the 'too bleak stopped caring' point for me and whilst I understand you don't want the same ol'e same ol'e for an entire run, it just lacked the same 'fun' and it just wasn't enjoyable to watch anymore. 1-3 I liked, but volume 6 was the only one after that that really stood out as enjoyable the whole way through to me.
I still have yet to watch season 9. If it ever truly does wrap up and finish, I might binge everything I missed one day but it's more out of a sense of closure than excitement.
speaking of cinder her back story pisses me off so muchWhat is it?
it has a disgusting view on abuse victims
What is it?
if they are smart they will bring the story to a close this season
There's way too much they need to get through to neatly wrap it up in one volume. All the more reason wasting all of V9 on a glorified filler arc wasn't the most well thought out choice.
Anyway reviving this is a terrible idea, keep the show dead.
hell vollume 7 and 8 could have been 1 vollume
But when needed one volume where Ironwood was a sympathetic gray morality character and one where he was a generic authoritarian villain.
if they are smart they will bring the story to a close this season0 chance, and it'd be stupid of them to try.
as its a miracle they are getting THIS seasonNot really. RWBY was very likely the only profitable thing Rooster Teeth had put out in years, it's a pretty known IP, and the only reason it "died" where it did was because the company that owned it screwed itself and not because the IP itself failed. It'll get "finished" no matter what, and then inevitably whored out for as long as possible until all its good will is burnt away.

Dang. That's...a lot. I wonder if the rest of the show will make any attempt to redeem her with a backstory like that.ok she was "adopted" (really she is a child slave and its legal) by a rich hotel owner lady who then put a shock collar on her
said lady and her 2 daughters (CINDERella) then abuse her for years
she is even shocked by the shock collar in public and no one does anything
eventually a huntsman notices and starts training her in secret becoming a father figure to her
promising to get her into beacon when she is 18 (and thus can leave her abuser)
eventually thoe cinder snaps and uses the weapon the huntsman gave her so she could practice when he is not there
to kill her mother and sisters
he sees she has done this
and he tries to kill her so she kills him in self defense
and then in this broken state she encounters salem and the rest is history
the story puts full blame on cinder for killing her abusers

tbh what has even been the story after season 3?
What? :(he sees she has done this
and he tries to kill her
That's pretty fucked up.the story puts full blame on cinder for killing her abusers
I never continued watching it after Monty passed away RIP
I was a pretty big Achievement Hunter fan from their inception up to when the core started to drift off
Ah, the show that peaked with its character intro trailers, and which lost its only good thing, the fight choreography, after Monty Oum's passing.
