That thing is SLICK. Hope you get it running and have loads of fun with it.Yeah, hopefully we can get it working. Plan on recording a bunch of random stuff with it! It looks to be in fairly good condition, but I have heard the belts could all need to be replaced as well, so might be another project.
Might mean the battery is leaking.Yeah, I'm gonna get a replacement and hope that makes it work.
Having to get a new battery is common for those old cameras when taking them out of the moth balls after decadesNice; I actually bought this one from ebay for $20/was seeing if I could get by on what seemed like a good deal since it came with the case and all the accessories. I'm a zoomer as zoomer can be, though, so I honestly thought the camcorder would be powered by something like AA batteries, lol.
Had the same thing happen, ordered a new battery and it was fine
I assume you remove the battery from the camcorder and place it in the charger to charge it, as you said the charger smelled like sulphur.Yeah, right out of the box started charging. It seemed normal at first as it went from a red to green light indicating the battery charged. Eventually, when we put the other battery in to charge (it came with 2), the charger started blinking red instead.
A sulphur smell is usually related to acid type batteries. It normally means a cell has ruptured inside the battery.
