It's been a long time since I binged a show as hard as I binged that one.

GATE also got a season 2 announcement which makes me happy. New cast apparently though :/

Season 1 was a 10/10, looking forward to more.

Only thing that would hype me up more would be S3 of Made in Abyss.

Toho are producing the series, but Madhouse is still creating it AFAIK.
So far, 2021 has been 2020.1.

Really loved the first episode of Frieren, that was some high art, but... I kinda lost interest in the episodes after that. I should probably watch it anyway.

Not a big modern anime fan but my wife and I just finished it the other day. Loved it.

i saw infinitly more social media presence for frieren than i did solo leveling

It feels more like a teaser but that sure is a teaser for Frieren S2

A panel of judges decides what gets on the category and then we, the audience/public, make up 30% of the vote and the judges make up 70%

So it was voted on that Solo Leveling was the best of the six (for the record, I haven't seen Solo Leveling so I can't speak to the quality of it compared to the others)

Although the Crunchyroll Anime Awards have been really bad for a couple years

I did a bit of a deeper dive but ever since 2022, only two anime (Bocchi the Rock and Lycoris Recoil) didn't hit first or second in their season in popularity on MyAnimeList and the only one not to break 500k users on MAL was Delicious in Dungeon

If it was ever "legitimate", it hasn't been in the past couple years, Frieren win or not
Not changing this part until Saki Amamiya (or Isa Jo) get into Smash as a playable character
Now watching: Witch Watch

Frieren S1 is my second favourite anime of all time, just a little behind Steins;Gate. I even started reading the manga recently cause I heard from people here that the next arcs after S1 ends would be difficult for them to adapt well or something.

I thought S2 was known to be coming since ages ago, although this is the first time I've seen a trailer and not just promo art

Man, I still need to watch season 1... The manga is one of my all time favorites and I love Studio Trigger but I have a hard time watching anything these days... Not sure what the last full season of an anime I've actually sat through was...

Trigger did a great job with season 1, you should totally watch it if you like the manga
