It can't beJust checked. The manga chapters involving her began in 2021. Goddammit vegy :V
Also the beginning of Invincible always rubs me wrong
Reminds me of the shadow beasts from hxhTogashi sure loves his rushing of major build-ups/being anticlimactic.
That was 8 years ago?Nah, vegy always does that with dates. Makes something sound way older than it actually is.
What else can compare to dat in anime? Where a hella badass character shows up for da 1st time and den gets... you know ._.
That happens all the time lmao.
She played her role. Not every character is going to come out of a story unscathed.
Nothing wrong with that arc other than peoples expectations
What happened? If you've seen it, the
The events of those chapters and the fate of that character was wasted potential
"The fans were wrong for expecting quality writing."
I like MHA, I need to get caught up on it.
But holy shit that storyline where they were setting up a band or some festival or something for several episodes was a slog. They were in the middle of an exciting arc (the war was about to start) when I dropped out, so now Ill have to rewatch the whole thing and Im not looking forward to that. Its one of only 2 or 5 animes I have enjoyed so at least there is that.
If you've seen it, theGuardians of the Globe getting #rekt in episode 1
Yeah that fight was bullshit. That season was when I really started mentally checking out with MHA. Shigaraki had so many ass pull saves because the author didn't want him to be defeated yet.Same here. I think that was the season where I was thinking has MHA been slop all along?
of you haven't seen itTbf, the showthe plot essentially begins when the "superman" character kills the rest of the"justice league" type team except the way they depict the fight, the JL has no business getting beaten and it was just annoying plot induced jobbing.
Its amazing how you can cite an example of the exact same storytelling mechanism used and praise that one but find the MHA inconceivableI don't know who you think I am but it's not the person you responded to lol
Its even funnier becauseOmniman has WAY less of a reason to be winning that fight and in fact a number of the characters could have survived that but you conveniently let that slide. Shiggy actually had a set up reason why he wins the fight against stars and stripes that they explain to you and you still complain
Lol. You really think I expected someone we barely knew to defeat the main villain? What a stupid thing to say.
Tbf, the showmade them a lot stronger than they should be. In the comics, they get completely wiped in like a page or two. It wasn't even a fight. Omni just showed up and everyone was dead.
I don't know who you think I am but it's not the person you responded to lol
Yeah that was as a pretty big asspull.
Is the most annoying take that modern internet users with zero media literacy love to throw out. Its become way too prevalentThat's not what makes it bad writing. From a story standpoint she has to lose, that's obvious. Problem one is her power set is ridiculous. Just tone it down. Problem two is making it seem like the sacrifice is worthwhile. She basically off screened some abilities that (mostly) had and probably would never come up. Fix either or even both of those and it's fine.
No, the writer simply played with your expectations in order to establish an impact and a palpable threat but also to necessarily advance the villains mission as well. Its not bad writing. Its pretty clever. Same thing invincible did. Heck invincible does this many times. You just didn't like what happened in the story.
We get it. You like shit writing and will justify whatever the author feeds us.
Not in anime, but the final boss of Fable 2. I won't spoil it, but if you know, you know.

I think it is fair to say that it was disappointing because up until that point things were relatively stable.
A LOT of shonen battle anime have that "jumping the shark" moment, let's not kid ourselves. Nearly the entire cast was still relatively powerful in Dragonball, even into the first arc of DBZ. Then, unless you were Saiyan or a Majin, you were basically dirt.
Naruto started off as the dude who was insanely untalented but worked harder than everyone else. The Konoha 12 were all useful and powerful in their own right. Skip ahead into Shippuden, Naruto is insanely gifted, and you better have fucking eye powers or else you're basically pointless.
It is disappointing that MHA makes the same mistake, but it IS a similar type of show.
It was also real cool when they killMidnight off-panel yet Gran Torino manages to survive despite get a hole punched through his chest.
If there's one thing that's annoying about MHA, it's how the men can all get insanely vicious injuries and still come out alive somehow and basically back to normal outside of scars but that doesn't exactly work out for the women. Like holy shit with what happens withMirko over the course of the show.
I wish people could just accept things

errr the festival was AFTER they had finished major arc
it was a breather arc
there was no war or anything happening at that time
I remember it being a breather arc, I just didnt enjoy it at all and it felt like it dragged longer than I wanted it too.
I stopped watching season 6, so I saw quite a bit of the show. I need to get back into it. I also need to get back into Demon Slayer.
ehhh demon slayer is carried entirely by its animation it does not pick up in story telling or characterization
Well damn, I left offwhere the sister becomes a daywalker and that was awesome. I was really getting into it.
Which would solve the 'problem' how? If they make her weaker ppl still know she ain't gonna win but now they realize even less how powerful shiggy has become. The main point of this fight is to establishthe identiy schism shigfy is having, nerf OFA a bit, set up the threat level the heroes face and the stakes, and do some minor world building. Making her weaker solves none if those. Especially when making her weaker wouldn't affect how the fight plays out in a way where she really couldn't win even narratively without having psychic powers too.Imagine two stories where every detail is the same except the hero. Let's say Dr. Octopus is terrorizing some city blah blah blah. One scenario has Daredevil losing to him. The other has Thor losing to him. While I'm sure there's some way to make it plausible, one of those scenarios requires a significant amount of work to get me there mentally. In the case of MHA, the work was not done.
That aspect of it is more of a nice detail than an actual story changer . Removing it or keeping it makes almost no difference. All the other stuff that happens as a result of thus fight still happens. I can't remember what powers specifically got destroyed but id have to reread to see that. It's a nothing burger. The fight becomes a jobbing session and nothing else. Which is completely fine, people love Solo Leveling. But good writing it is not. Her taking a meaningful quirk away from him gives the encounter a point and does some of the legwork on Shiggy being believably beatable.
In the comicYeah the comic did it betterNolan one shots each member very easily.
