Man they need to fix input lag

also is anyone else having serious issues with multiplayer disconnects?

Dammit. I found my first crown for the new monsters and of course it's a large tempered Seregios. I don't wanna fight that. I already fought one of them last night with my friend and two randos, and if not for insurance and the amazing healing horn player that joined us, we woulda failed it extra hard.

I haven't even fought steve yet. I got to fix that.

Spoilers: he's mean. But I was bad at fighting him in Rise too, so maybe I'm not the best person to ask.

I found a mini Lagiacrus and also finally got the achievement for 10 mini crowns. Still a ways away with both sets of crowns, but at least it's actually fun in this game thanks to how binoculars work. I had zero interest in crown hunting in previous games.

Ok I know what frustrates me about 8/5 T Lagi and Steve

its the combination of every single move doing 80% of your health+ constant chip damage+ constantly jumping in and out of the camera.

combine that with the input lag/input drop and it just makes for a frustrating battle of dodge 6 times then get a hit in like Elden ring rather than the blow for blow I enjoyed with previous MH titles

Agreed that they're both a little too active and hit more than a little too hard. Particularly because pretty much all the ones that appear in the world on their own are tempered 8/5s for me.

yep. Seg-agregious hitting the double swipe from one side of the arena to the other being an instant faint because I Dragon Dance the first one and then have to either choose to L1 and lock on and hope the second Dragon Dance doesnt input drop or just guess when hes coming back

still enjoyable fights just wish theyd tune down the damage or fix the input dropping/lag

Today I learned you can activate falling boulders by hitting them with a melee weapon. And also that they really send you flying. There wasn't really a reason to believe otherwise, but uh... whoops.

I don't know if the input lag is fixable, because I'm still not certain how much of it is intended. The game doesn't want you to do anything until an animation finishes out and there's no input buffering. For me, it's noticeably awful in two areas: the radial menu and focus strikes. It's extremely frustrating wanting to quickly switch to flash pods or luring pods only for the radial menu to just deny you for no reason. If you really want to implement those tools in your play, it's generally safer to just have them on your slinger most of the time, which locks you out of the other slinger ammo types. There are so many times I could have prevented a monster from leaving the zone if I could properly switch to either of those items.

And despite wounds being such a big advantage the hunter has, it's pretty difficult to actually land the focus strike sometimes with certain weapons when you have to deal with the inputs dropping on top of the often erratic movements of monsters.

I think the amount of damage Lagi and Steve do is fine though. They've injected some much needed difficulty into the game, and I'm quite satisfied with both.

I dont mind the damage but its the combo of input lag and damage that hurts

T steve taking me out because I dragon danced twice but the second one didnt activate is annoying.

it may also be because I feel the lying down invulnerability has been nerfed from previous games. So once I get hit by the above its a definite faint cause I cant get up to dodge any follow up

I've also noticed the input lag is especially bad underwater. Cost me a cart just before actually when trying to heal but the radial menu just said no.

I really do hope it's something that gets addressed. I don't know if it's a thing on console either, but if it is, then that tells me that it's intentional and probably not something they ever plan on fixing.

Im on PS5 so yeah its intentional. Feels weird too because Rise and World didnt feel like this

its particularly jarring because I just came from Metroid Dread which has insanely good controls.
