I'm enjoying the exploration aspect, no one told me this was an uncharted like.
Still pretty bad at the combat. I feel like Eve isn't as fluid as she should be. In cutscenes she's zipping all over the place, but gameplay wise she's almost... I don't wanna say "clunky", but I'll use it for lack of a better word. I'm assuming I'll feel less like that if I ever get better at combat.

Story is just straight up Nikke at this point.

She is kind of clunky, I agree.

In the pants.

And also to control.

But I think thats intentional and it works pretty aight when you start unlocking all her systems.

Love both phases but phase 2 is definitely my favourite one because of the singing and the trance style of music along with other sounds like the primitive drums.

That's why I gave up on it super early when I kept losing to the same mob after that opening boss fight... Couldn't time the parry or the dodge...

The eye candy wasn't worth it...

It was definitely a challenging game. It's worth getting good at it, though. GOTY for me last year.

As someone who sucks at parrying I found the game got a lot easier after the first two hours and you start unlocking some of the abilities. Extra parry window was a godsend and Eve's beta abilities get kinda ridiculous.

That said I also haven't finished it because I wasn't in the mood, so I can't speak for some of the later bosses which spike the difficulty up a bit. Just that I absolutely suck at parrying yet once some of the abilities kicked in I found parrying fine enough to make my way through it better than I did in games like Elden Ring.

The hardest part for me near the beginning was finding out how to unlock more rest points via those radio towers n' whatnot.

But yeah the combat gets a good deal easier once you pick the skills to give you a bigger parry and dodge window.

You get skills that make timing windows longer for parries and dodges. Once you've upgraded Eve, that "clunkiness" definitely transitions into you being an asskick machine.
It's not the cough that carries you off, it's the coffin they carry you off in.

Beat an alpha Natiba
Lily and Adam look way different compared to what they looked like in Nikke.
Still not used to Korean ass Eve having a British accent.
Made it to some town and got Rapi jumpscared.

Absolutely ecstatic that when you're following people, they outrun you. More games need to do this, not the stupid "The person you're following and talking to has a walk speed that is faster than your walk speed but slower than your run speed."

Got my ass beat by some guard in the desert. Finally managed to get her once I got used to the parry.
I know I joked earlier about enemies jump scaring you, but this research facility straight up has survival horror elements. Kinda neat.

It might go on sale on 25th August during their 3rd person shooter sale. Otherwise the Autumn sale starting 29th September. Either way I wouldn't count on more than a 20% discount.

Finally installed some mods...

Stuff like making Eve's walk speed faster, make the cooldown for the drone scan shorter. Those types of things.
Found a Nikke minigame, got Rapi's hat back. Unlocked Anis outfit.

Eve's double jump seems kinda silly. I don't even know that she actually gets any higher, she just does a little flippy.

In some underground bunker thing now. Genuinely surprised that there's as many survival horror elements in the game. I'd never say that the game is scary, but there's a lot of scripted segments that are rooted in horror.

Knowing that healing items regen every time you sit down definitely has made it easier.
I typically horde items in games until the end just in case I need them.

And of course, I end up beating the game without ever having used the item....

Got to the next alpha Naytiba, got my ass beat.
I am slowly getting better at combat, now that I'm remembering things that Eve can do it's getting easier.
Decided to go back to check out older areas to see if I can harvest more bodies.

Story continues to be Nikke, without any of the heavy moments yet.

Been going through the first area again.
Found a lot of bodies I'd missed. All will be absorbed into Eve.
Kind of a bummer that outfits are only cosmetic. Wish that there was different stats between them, but oh well.

I'm for sure enjoying the game. It's pretty good.

I enjoyed the game, I played it because of the Nikke collab
Fighting multiple enemies was frustrating until you could just spam special skills to decimate them

Only boss I really struggled on was DLC Scarlet, that was the one time I put it on story mode - and still lost a few times due to fatal QTEs. I was definitely not good at the game, I just spammed the shit out of special moves. I could block well, was decent with purple QTEs, hit/miss with blue QTEs, and rarely succeeded on dodge/yellow QTEs. At least blocking charged your special gauge pretty well
