Getting nervous. Its been years since Ive taken such a long flight. We went to the UK last summer, but this is double the flight time.

Also have never taken such a long trip with the family. At least the kids are teens so they dont whine so much.

I hope you'll be fine, Japan's summer can be rather nuts, that even Japanese themselves sometimes hate it

Always take/bring a lot of drinks once you're there, just in case the heat is too much.

Pretty darn hot.
I bought a few UV umbrellas for us but need to find neck fans.

We got 2 rooms at the Sheraton Hiroshima, and while one is fine the other has a musty smell.

I mean I brought my husband, but also brought my daughters so I brought a majority of women to Japan.

Im planning on going there in October. I have never travelled to another country before

Fact: Nintendo is the best, there is no point denying it.
Southern Japan is molten diarrhea in summer. Be careful.

Avoid the tourist circuit if possible, and find some local stuff. You might pass Shikoku if you go to the mainland. It is beautiful in summer, I recommend a stop there.

They are enjoying it for the most part. Kids are teens so its not like Im dragging little kids around (both are taller than me).

Were also not exactly doing a cheap trip. Staying in decent sized rooms so we arent cramped. Hotel in Osaka was around $300 a night. Moving on to Kyoto tomorrow and that hotel will be $375 a night.

For meals we do sit downs so those range between $50 and $100 for the 4 of us. We did have a simple meal from a grocery store yesterday, but I was really craving fruit so that didnt come out cheap either, lol.

I mean we already have our circuit planed so we cant change it. Hiroshima-Okayama-Osaka-Kyoto-Tokyo-Matsumoto-Tokyo

We are using taxis more than the average tourist. Because with 4 of us some routes end up the same price or only a little more $ than public transport.

Yeah it all depends on where you are traveling. To be honest, an air conditioned taxi will definitely be more comfy than a train full of sweaty guys. Last year, I got stuck behind a backpacker on a train and it smelled like he hadnt showered in days.
