They are all part of the same series called rushing beat. (Also the localization for the last game the peace keepers was so ass, lol). Anywho just like every other good beat'em up this series too is getting a modern sequel called rushing beat x return of brawl brothers (this one was the most popular one over here in NA and so gotta' capitalize on that nostalgic marketing by using the name again). Releases for the PS5 and the switch 2 was also announced, but a steam demo also dropped today as part as that indie showcase and whatnot.

I went n' downloaded it and played for a bit and yeah.....this one is going to be another good one for the beat'em up fans. Try it out.

Rival Turf had such bizarre box art, it feels like Phalanx levels of just odd. Ok I looked closer and it's just the realistic people on the cover perhaps (for the US box art) really made me wonder what I could be getting into.
Today's the same as ever.
Ah, NES/SNES/genesis north american or european box arts that would replace the original japanese artist's cover with goofy real people. So very dumb, and nostalgic.

Now all I need is a modern sequel or even just a port for that arcade-only beat'em up denjin makai 2/ guardians and then I'll really be good to go.

Mad Dogg hehe I can get with Dragon Warrior box art changes ala The Dungeons and Dragons inspired art. It did seem cooler than say here is just some chibi anime from Japan. But Rival Turf? That's just too far of a bridge for me to cross back then. What were they they thinking?!

lmao the hilarious thing about it to me is that its just.......two random young street toughs. At least they tried their hardest to look tough. They'd be late 1980s/early 1990s hallmark movie antagonists for a something similar to house party or those karate kid vibes.

But yeah rival turf's cover was pretty awful. (and the game itself wasn't that good to be honest. The 3 games peaked at brawl brother's and the japanese version of the final game).

I never heard of the other two? Were they released stateside *looks for one* Huh I don't remember seeing the art for Brawl Brothers ever, but I think at least that NA art at least it doesn't look like they got two real life people who the Westside story would be like huh? Who are these jokers.

TBH I think Rival Turf just confused me so I never wanted to rent it or knew anyone who had it.

Yeah they were horrible Beat Em Ups.
Don't like it? Don't watch it. It's that simple
