In which case that may as well be a different person from me, and all the other people still around would miss me. Unless it's magic time travel stuff and the current timeline "never existed", so no one would have been there to miss me in the first place.

In a heartbeat. Sure Ill miss modern video games but there is so much more Id prefer from back then. And Id get to live through the 70s, 80s, and 90s again if I was lucky enough to live that long assuming I carry on from my current age. And I could but my literal favorite car new that year. 1968 GTO.

Yes.

I have a massive issue that relates to the world as we (civilization) knows it is ending.

I would not have that issue, that anxiety, and so forth back then. Heck, I might not even yet know about the lead issue.

I'd visit my dad who just graduated HS. Not sure if he entered the military yet. I could visit my friends at least the one I was in the area at the time. I'd go to where his farm was. Both my mom and my other friend were in their early teens. I think my friends mom was running a trailer park. It would be hard to not butterfly effect my friend.

this year is a pretty fucking scary year to be in, but 1968 is also a pretty fucking scary year to be in. especially since as many have mentioned racism and homophobia were both much less widely condemned back then.
