been trying to lose weight this year (35lbs lost so far) and had some blood labs done. Doctor sent me the results asking me to make an appointment to talk about my cholesterol levels.

is this really bad? I did some googling and obvs this is not optimal but am I at really high risk of dying? Is my doctor likely to put me on medication? Ive already changed a lot of my diet this year, is there something else I should be doing?

This looks totally fine. The reference range is also there btw. HDL is a bit low which ive never seen before personally but i dont think it should be a big deal.

HDL is definitely low. you want that to be 50-60ish at least
LDL is fine tho. you want to keep it under 100 but 104 is still fantastic compared to most fat FUCK americans >_>
Triglycerides is fine.

GPT says, this person:
  • Likely has low HDL due to lifestyle factors (e.g., lack of exercise, poor diet, smoking) or genetics.
  • Has acceptable LDL and triglyceride levels, suggesting theyre not in immediate danger but not fully optimized either.
  • Might have metabolic risk factors (like prediabetes, abdominal obesity), especially if theres a family history or other signs.
  • Would benefit from lifestyle changes (more exercise, healthier fats, weight loss if overweight).

LDL is a tad high (it's +4 outside of the normal range). LDL is "bad cholesterol" and should be kept low if possible.

Cholesterol can often amount to genes though. I have similar struggles despite eating healthy.
Kind reminder not to defend corporations when they make dumb/anti-consumer decisions.
Im definitely obese, but working on it.

Glad to see this doesnt seem like a HUGE problem <_<
maybe Ill try starting to walk more or something

what did your real doctor say?
If your dr told you to make an appt to discuss your results, why are you asking CE?

I want to get an idea of what to expect, from people who may have more knowledge and real world experience than me. Plus, its faster and cheaper than my doctor. And this is a social board lmao its for social discussion
