A BB A! I think his neighbor is a doofus, but the Gremlin Glitch holiday episode was nice. There's some Nerd Lore as people still cared about a man named Finn.
Today's the same as ever.
Action 52 and Cheetahmen are probably my favorite AVGN classic episodes. Chex Quest is my favorite modern episode.
Like it or leave it. Hey, where are you going?
The Cheetahman I actually associate with a different long defunct reviewer, but heh he did review that at some point.
Today's the same as ever.
For later AVGN I really like the Pepsiman episode. It's cool that he got the actor from the game to play TV Game Guy again.
"It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness. That is life."
I Just don't like meme videos I guess. I am trying to watch Ikari Rambo. I mean Ikari Warriors 1. There is noise outside.

A BBA I need a second player ;) Ok I just had to do that one more time. It's about time Kyle Justin came back from the dead and stopped being a home improvement guy. I forget the last I knew of his lifestyle now.

i have no idea what that is, but i can tell you what it looks like- it looks like the shit stain on the bottom of my drawers, right now

the Wii/Xbox360 gen of games are as old today as the NES gen was when AVGN first started.
after years of waiting
nothing came
Ok for some actual context! Screw Attack was newer and Handsome Tom and Stuttering Craig had appeared in an AVGN episode about the WII being the future and well Monkey Balls.

He gets better, But I watched the Gex episode again as I only saw the first game and maybe I just don't like that series and that was annoying as a game Who liked Gex anyway? Also where did the hair go? but haha I liked his OG contributors back in the day.

Let's HUNKER DOWN and you get back behind my couch!

*ahem* He's gonna take you back to the past.
I actually really liked his Gex episode.

Yo I just picked a newer one. I think it was more that the games were just annoying! Ikari Warriors was fucking hilarious. But I guess at least spoilers a lizard may not get close to a human lady. A BBA. Stops working. Ok I will never say A BBA again here as long as this topic exists.

Gex has weird bad platforming and out of place "catch phrases."

Bombing the Floor!! Actual good use of music and original catch phrases.

im surprised both AVGN and Nostalgia Critic have managed to last this long even if they both fell off at this point... lol

Also I think Kyle Justin was the one who pointed out how James was going bald. I laughed at his song like the scrotum guns, but ppl really can hone in on baldness.

Nostalgia Critic is the one that surprises me that it's still going. All AVGN episodes surpass a million views, whereas the Critic rarely gets to 200k.

I like the Spoony One as much as others, but hah I didn't really buy into that feud though it was likely planned (Not with AVGN but the whole AVGN versus the Critic).. I am trying to think of the company James was working with Screenwave. I don't think they were all bad, but some episodes it seemed like were so fucking boring. Now I want to go to McDonalds and get more. Old times.

Ok I shall be back maybe. Watch a newer AVGN. Like uhh well SimCity was good! Seriously watch it, if you haven't.

Bible Games are always great episodes. The Indiana Jones one right before Crystal Skull released is amazing.
I think many of my favorites (including among newer episodes) are the ones where he looks at hardware. Double Vision alone has at least five jokes that still send me to the god damn moon.
Born to lose, live to win!
I got tired of the AbsolutelyNoOne joke.

Incorrect. Lol one of his best episodes was made in 2013

Nope. Double Vision and the Atari 5200 episodes came out long before that.
Switch 3 will be announced tomorrow.

or do u consider him to only have 2 best episodes?

I love pretty much all of his videos, old and new. His Earthbound video is incredible.

But yeah, the classics are some top tier golden age internet humor.

Ninja Gaiden, Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout/Crazy Castle, Plumbers Dont Wear Ties and Big Rigs are some of my favorites that come to mind. I still think of the fake commercial for Big Rigs anytime says the word big rig hahaha.

I want to save Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout till later, if I am going to go on a bit of streak. I think that game is only average and even the NERD sez that game is not bad it's just so painfully mediocre after all his friends "pulled some really funny tricks" along the way. I love that game, it was mostly such a chill adventure even with the rattling as Bugs freaking Bunny.

i did try watching a couple newer ones. they seem low energy and kinda like, static. it doesnt really feel like angry video game nerd to me. not bad, just not my jam. i might go thru them all one day. to me this feels similar to how i like the early seasons of simpsons 2-7 but eventually went thru all of them even if they werent interesting or funny. like, just for the experience i guess

ive seen a couple of the newer (not sure what year) guest star episodes too and they were off-putting tho, not gonna lie

my brother saw the movie at the NYC premiere, kinda jealous of that tho tbh
My fate was the grandest, most brilliant of them all.

My favorite newer is probably Sim City. I forget, but there was an era where I think he was just pumping them out as "meme" videos with no passion. A lot could be okay but so many were, yeah I never want to see this again.

The Deja VU one was good too. The Nerd tried to be a all noir like, but not too overindulgence in his shtick. Anyhow. Those were just a couple decent newer ones. I prefer the old nerd! Where he swore, but didn't do it to click boxes.

Whenever I hear AVGN vs NC I think of this photo. It is such a well composed photo even though it was likely just taken by some amateur.

We all live in a Yellow SUV! a Yellow SUV!
^ Ha how old is that picture. I remember AVGN and him had a feud just because controversy builds interest. Even if felt like a very pro wrestling thing which is fine. I don't remember that very well because I didn't watch the Nostalgia Critic.

Amateur photos are kewl btw.

Probably 2008 from when they had their "feud". Can't be much later because then the crowd would be full of smartphones.

Yeah definitely no smart phones there hehe also I like prowres it's just hah LEMME TELL YOU SOMETHING NERD, Brother!!!! NC's point.

Anyway I was trying to see what the guy with the open vest behind NC was holding. It that some sort of mini camcorder?

Is he wearing a wig in this new episode?
Edit: oh I missed the setup with the time skip
There's a new episode? I am watching Smackdown when I should be watching NBA/NHL. I have not watched smackdown in awhile, but as I said Bugs Bunny can blow out my ass if I ever get there :P Shit was just a bunch of tricks to make Bugs Bunny have a better time as he gets to his party.

There isn't a lot of stuff I watch on the Internet but I have watched and still watch AVGN and love it. I like it because it mirrors my growing up even though I'm about 4 years older than him. Some of the games and specific spots he points out I literally complained about and had the same reactions to like on TMNT and landing the plane in Top Gun. I laughed so hard at that stuff watching it. I had massive nostalgia trips with Ninja Gaiden though I actually was able to beat that game unlike them.

Where I really truly enjoy him though is when he isn't being over the top with the nerd character but just kind of talking and giving you background information about the game, development, company, stuff like that. He has some really good tidbits and just general opinions and insights on the game and what it was like at the time like yeah it doesn't look like much now but at the time it was pretty impressive and kind of mindblowing.

I really liked here in recent history where he has been highlighting good games and he did my favorite NES game Blaster Master. Fucking awesome game and I have heard him use the music from it in other videos but never covered any thing about it.

So yeah I'm a fan, will always be a fan and I enjoy his stuff. But yeah it doesn't need to be the over the top skits with like games blowing up and shit. Just talk about it man haha.
100% this, loved the info and detailing issues with the games parts best
I like the Contra review where he woke up to try and beat the game before school or whatever task. I get that. Anyhow here's a screengrab I have. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/d/dff2000e.jpg

he just released a Dragon's Lair revisit

it's really nice to see him still doing elaborate skits, i kno some people dont like those but i love them. though he does sound tired and disinterested, hope im not reading too much into it but it makes me sad

I've watched all of them but the older I get the less I enjoy the overtop stuff like the bug bunny birthday bash or whatever it's called. My favorite bits were probably the power glove landing in top gun and beating shadow link

His comparison of time passing to a toilet paper role was surprisingly profound, and those are words Id never thought could ever be said together lol.

this was a good one, his "past self" episodes like the mega man one tend to be pretty good.

there's actually quite a bit of games i'd like him to take another look at from way back in his early eps

I'm not sure why people don't think new AVGN is good. I keep on laughing my ass off as new ones. The one with the garfield game had me howling.
RIP CE. This decision to close social boards will be the end of Gamefaqs.
yeah from what ive seen theyre not bad but for w/e reason i pick up vibes a lot of ppl dont. its a me thing not necessarily an avgn thing

AVGN's best videos overall are the console review videos. Just covers so much inane content
The Amiga CD-32 is probably my favorite episode. Especially when he gets to Surf Ninjas.
I only appear to be out of line because I am the only one who is in line.
