There'd obviously be changes but I don't know what they'd be. I wouldn't mind tbh so long as it's more like Oblivion than Skyrim.
There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.
In a heartbeat. It's my favorite RPG. Unfortunately they will most likely get rid of the dice roll combat though.

Morrowind is too archaic to be remastered. It would have to be remade from the ground up imo.

I still play the original so yeah. It has the best quests. Even if they just overhauled the graphics and animations that would be huge.

But tbh I dont mind the graphics. Its nostalgic and it scaled well through the years

Technically I'd call Skywind a remaster. Same with OpenMW and the different graphics overhauls, and MGE-XE. They all give it modern features and enhance the graphics.

The graphics overhaul like they did with Oblivion made going back and playing it so much easier. I can look past outdated systems, I can look past older graphics, I can't do both at the same time (unless it's a game I played back in the day). The remaster let me go back and play Oblivion.

Yep. Ive never played it. I got into the franchise with Oblivion. I just know I cant play it in its current state because the dated graphics would bug me. I hear its fantastic, though.

I would only buy it if they improved the IMHO awful combat.
You can improve the combat yourself by leveling up.

Rather, you can improve the combat by stumbling into the dungeon containing Chrysamere or any other dungeon containing a unique uber-weapon and instantly turn the game into easy mode.

It's not the combat, it's you. You ran into the first cave and got your ass stomped and couldn't figure out why.

... I am just fucking around for the record. I always had a tendency to be an apologist for Morrowind's outdated systems. So it's me, not you.

You'd still struggle with low stats wouldn't you? I think the main problem people have with the combat is that your weapon doesn't always hit. Even though this is a thing in many RPGs they don't like it in Morrowind.

It would have to be more of a remake for me to buy it.
...I think I'm done here...

That's not fun or enjoyable to me. Having to grind to make the game playable isn't a good thing imo. I've played Morrowind many, many times and I'm pretty cemented in my opinion.
Out of curiosity did you play it when it was new, and did you hate the combat back then? For the record I don't remember ever having to grind in Morrowind, and min-maxing isn't necessary.

I don't remember my Long Blade skill being particularly high whenever I found Chrysamere on any given playthrough, but the game still transitioned instantly from carefully approaching every encounter to effortlessly thwacking every enemy in the game (except maybe Daedroth, since they're such nasty spellcasters). Chrysamere's the obvious choice since it's both one of the game's most powerful weapons and can be acquired as soon as you walk to the cave it's in, but I think Skullcrusher can also be acquired without doing its related quest if you want a one-handed Blunt option.

The biggest hurdle with accuracy in combat is learning that your available stamina is directly tied to your accuracy, so never go into battle tired.

No because I'd just play it on Game Pass.
Cel Damage! Tonight at 8:00!
If they remastered it in Unreal Engine, it would be even more brown than the original.

Thanks to shitty DnD mechanics.

maybe they feel there's not much reason to considering OpenMW exists

I haven't checked lately but back when I kept up with it, they were making huge strides with the graphics

True. I wish you could play morrowind on Playstation
Absolutely. I never played morrowind, sadly.
You gonna do somethin' or just stand there and bleed?
After playing Oblivion "Remastered", absolutely not.
Of course, its the best TES in terms of being an RPG with choices and consequences etc.

The die-roll combat in Morrowind is like Active Time Battle in any given FF game - I love the game in spite of it, not because of it. I wouldn't turn my nose at a Remaster that kept it in, but I would certainly welcome some modernized combat.

But the biggest QoL change they could make in a Morrowind Remaster is exactly what they did with Oblivion's: remove the tedious, counter-intuitive, roleplay-killing Attribute min-maxing and just give a flat amount of bonus points per level. Whatever nitpicks great and small I have with Oblivion Remaster, I'll likely never go back to OG Oblivion based on that one improvement alone.

Maybe they could have you select dice rolls or no when you start the game.
Not unless they fundamentally change the combat

For me, Morrowind isn't fun unless you do things to make it fun via breaking the game. Like most vets I quickly go and grab boots of blinding speed and use a resist magicka potion to work around the blindness.

I forget exactly where but you can find a soul gem with a saint soul in it already and then use it to create constant effect for fatigue regain. You're gonna need this if you want this game to be tolerable.

Thats what makes it fun. In Morrowind, you can become a god before you ever do anything.
