My very favorite games are single-player games, that having beginnings and endings.

I am not into deck builders, so I suppose. I haven't played some really good ones. I could like if I was patient enough to try and learn. Other stuff I just already know I am not going to have any patience for certain genres so I just am not let down.
Today's the same as ever.
I feel like this towards all anime JRPGs
If you read this signature, then that meant that I had control of what you read for 5 SECONDS!!
I don't even look at games anymore unless it's pixel art or if it's less than a few GB in size.
Like it or leave it. Hey, where are you going?

I really love roguelikes/deckbuilders, but there's honestly only handful that are actually worth playing. Many of them have boring synergies or feel really cheap.
...I think I'm done here...

Oh really, didnt know that "uses sword and can be tough sometimes" is what that genre is

It's lazy, is what it is.

They can make that seven trillion hour game the Internet thinks they want without having to design a single level.

As someone who has loved roguelikes since the mid 2000s, I can totally see where TC is coming from. Well-designed roguelikes like Hades and Spelunky are some of my favorite games of all time, but since the 2010s a lot of developers have seen it as an easy shortcut to give a lot of hours of gameplay.

But most of them are lazy and shallow.
man - noun. A miserable pile of secrets.
EXAMPLE: What is a man? A miserable little pile of secrets. But enough talk, HAVE AT YOU!
I also hate stumbling across an article or thread that's like, "Such and such game releases today!" I read it, look at pics/trailer whatever, think it looks cool. Go to Steam page.

Roguelike deck builder. No thanks
Stand out, fit in
I love roguelikes now, though I (mostly) only play turn-based ones. Here are some of the best ones I'd recommend:

Across the Obelisk
Astronarch
Balatro
Cat God Ranch
Dicey Dungeons
Endgame of Devil
The Last Flame
Peglin
PokeRogue
Slay the Spire
Slice & Dice

I figured that was just a mod to the fact every game now days has micro transactions so don't need to mention it.
Rage is a hell of an anesthetic.
Give me some examples, I like rouge likes but I haven't seen any that look interesting in a while
I feel this way about those pvpve (player vs enemy vs player or whatever the fuck this genre is normally called) games.

I remember hearing about this new robin hood game coming out. "Robin hood? Hmm, sounds cool. Is it a game centered around heisting a wonder" (the game called hood: outlaws and legends).

Payday as a series pretty much sucks ass these days (with the console versions always sucking regardless) and heisting only exists as a small part of grand theft auto 5+having to deal with too many morons in grand theft auto online. Pulling off heists as a game concept is just ripe for new game attempts since there is barely any competition.

"Nah, lets make this robin hood game a online pvpve game with sweet battle passes because this is a type of game that is definitely not a part of a oversaturated video game market and players will totally leave the microtransaction and/or battle pass game they are playing now to check this game out!"

*The little population it has dies within a week.*

Nah, genuine oversight.

Like how I just now realized I was supposed to include "extraction shooter" in there somewhere.

I used to feel that way, but once I tried a rogue like that clicked for me, I started really enjoying the genre.

The one that did it for me was Gunfire Reborn because I was looking for something to scratch that looter shooter itch. Then I also played Whisker Squadron, Hades, Vampire Survivors, Cult of the Lamb... I'm loving it lol
Steam/Xbox/PSN = NoxObscuras
Another favorite of mine......action rpgs that have a very appealing art style and character designs. Very pretty cel-shaded like art style. Nice sounding music. Its like this game was made for me....

.....its a online only games as a service gacha game. All the most interesting abilities, equipment and characters is saved for the gacha rolls part of the game.

Yeah, the hoyoverse genshin impact, honkai star rail and zenless zone zero games alongside games like wuthering waves piss me the fuck off since they are the type of games I would have loved to bought and been playing had they just been regular single player/no MP or internet required game releases. These games are huge successes and so these games tailor made to get that whale money is going to keep happening over and over again.

I still remember the night when I was browsing the store and seen zenless zone zero as one of the new releases. God the disappointment I felt when I read the game's description and found out the genshin impact/honkai star rail guys made it. Downloaded the demo and genuinely liked the gameplay and art style too, =/

I have that sort of experience a lot nowadays, but most typically with "Souls-likes". I pretty much interpret that sort of adjective as "you actually won't enjoy this no matter how intriguing it looks in setting/concept" because that was pretty much exactly how it went with Elden Ring.

I want to reiterate I do not dislike rogue likes. There are plenty I like, its just that there are many cool or neat concepts I see that would benefit from NOT being a rogue like.

I mean, I take some issue with Supergiant using alpha players to hone the gameplay over the course of a year, but you can't argue with results.

And you cannot deny the insane effort they put into Hades and Hades II.
