They can be. But getting tired of procedurally generated levels or having to do "runs"It's lazy, is what it is.

I figured that was just a mod to the fact every game now days has micro transactions so don't need to mention it.Nah, genuine oversight.
I used to feel that way, but once I tried a rogue like that clicked for me, I started really enjoying the genre.
The one that did it for me was Gunfire Reborn because I was looking for something to scratch that looter shooter itch. Then I also played Whisker Squadron, Hades, Vampire Survivors, Cult of the Lamb... I'm loving it lol
It's lazy, is what it is.
They can make that seven trillion hour game the Internet thinks they want without having to design a single level.
