I can't wait to buy all the dlc again!
There are wounds that never show on the body that are deeper and more hurtful than anything that bleeds.
I never moved from Civ V to VI, and I never moved from Crusader Kings II to III.

I'm almost certain that I won't be moving from EU IV to V, either.

This game has a dangerously high chance of suffering the same fate as Imperator. Judging from the dev diaries Johan spent the entire time huffing his own farts again and it's going to be a bloated mess of shallow mechanics that don't work together properly. Also the UI is ugly.

I wanted EU5 to be EU4 but better, not the brundlefly.
This game has so much dlc that they offer a monthly subscription to access them. I still somewhat regularly play EU2 through For the Glory.

I never even got into 4 despite having it for years. Oops. It was a bit too daunting for me to learn after all that DLC.
Many Bothans died to bring you this post.

Needless to say EU5 will likely be a day one for me.

I perfectly understand.

When I first got EU4, I opened it up, picked a country, stared at the screen for half an hour clicking stuff without unpausing, then just closed it, intimidated.

And this was for someone who had been playing Crusader Kings for years.

I really wanted to play the game though, so afterwards I spent months studying the game through the wiki and subreddit before I actually started my first game.

Yes, I actually studied. For months. To play a game.

Totally worth it, though.

tbh I don't think it's reasonable for the average person to randomly pick up this game and be able to play it with out watching a few youtube videos explaining what to do. Even then you'll probably just get wrecked by one of the lucky nations with no ability to retaliate for a while.
