Second book I've read this year (first was Camp Damascus by Chuck Tingle), hell probably second book I've read this decade -_- But my toddler is all about reading books and we are spending more time at the library and now I'm getting back into it.
It didn't hook me as much as Camp Damascus did. The scary moments were just not quite as engaging, though maybe that's because there were things from Camp Damascus that were literally straight out of my nightmares.
I do like that he branched out a bit with his storytelling techniques, developing the main character's backstory throughout the book. Book took way too long to really take off but when it does, some of the ideas it explores are pretty freaky. Just wish it didn't cram it all in the last half.
