Boy I got bad news for you on that one. Japanese motorcycle riders and removing mufflers is a tradition that is very much still alive.Eh, at least its not as bad as here. Or maybe I just got super lucky. Because no matter where you are here, youll hear that annoying shit.
I'm in Kyoto and despite the fact it's golden week and so crowded
Wow i love japan so much
How do I move to japan?
I had a traditional Japanese breakfast at my hostel and it was served with natto. I can't stand it, the taste is not great but the stickiness is killing me. How do I gracefully eat this
Also I will say the only thing I dislike about visiting Japan is using chopsticks. I hate using chopsticks
- healthy, cheap food options everywhere

Holy shit ive been having so much fun
I can't believe the amount of cool people I've met here from discord
Gives me faith in humanity tbh
- idk if the karoshi thing (death by overwork) is actually true, people seem to come and go on the standard rush hours (8 am and 6pm). maybe it's only specific companies and people who really want to climb the corporate ladder?
speaking of MAGA, I actually ran into someone wearing a MAGA hat in kyoto on my last trip. funny thing is they weren't even white. probably not even american. likely just some edgelord trying to get a reaction.
I have today and tomorrow left in Osaka, then I head to Tokyo. This country fails to rock. It might not be perfect but God, theres little here to hate for sure.
Update: still having a gr8 time i love it hereBased.
maybe Japan should have taken over the Pacific islands during WW2. we shouldn't have stopped them
A flippant remark about a military campaign that resulted in the rape and murder of millions of civilians is really what you wanted to go with?
Or someone who doesn't even understand what MAGA actually means. Probably thought it's a brand name or something similar XDhttps://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/b/bd4d5de1.jpg
Have you seen any of the pokemon themed sewerlids?
They're everywhere now. Even my tiny ass town has them.Really? If I ever go to Japan, I wanna go see where my favourite mons are.

https://local.pokemon.jp/manhole/My favourite is Vulpix, seems there's a lot of her in Hokkaido especially? If I'm reading that correctly, I mean.
You can look them up there (assuming you know the Japanese name).
burdock root
Had to look that up. Gobou. Crazy thing about that. It's almost entirely imported from China, but Chinese people don't eat it. They even had a special on NHK where the interviewed people who worked at a farm for it in China and none of them ate it either. But my Chinese wife and inlaws love it. Try Gobou fries sometime if you get the chance.
I just returned home yesterday and man was that a nasty return. Almost everything went wrong, overslept and almost missed my plane back, terrible US TSA shit, United lost one of my bags and I had to wait around for them to get it to me, missed my train back to my house and so much more. Glad to be home but absolutely hate dealing with US-related immigration and transit. If you travel yearly or more its absolutely worth it to look into global entry. $120 for 5 years. It includes TSA precheck so even on domestic flights you get that benefit. Makes travel much better.

Damn can't believe I'm going back tomorrow
I've been so social during my trip, feels sad that I'm about to go back to the crushing loneliness of tennessee... rip
returning from japan is the absolute worst. you get to see all the little things that no longer make sense in america. it starts to feel like a third world country in comparison.
