that color palette and saturation just did so much for me

Uh the colors are a easy fix. The massive graphical quality upgrade on the old version isn't.
It makes no sense to me how they spent so much time carefully updating the game while completely ignoring the saturated colors and making the game look like ESO 2
Thanks for reading!

I don't like the new textures for stuff, feels too much like skyrim remastered.
I don't appreciate the passive-aggressive "uh" either, we're all at least 30 here aren't we.

*shrug* I don't understand your perspective.
i don't care for oblivion at all tbh, it's still a janky, dated game with many balance and design issues under its new superficial paintjob

Apparently it quite literally runs the original's game logic in the original engine and just has UE5 handle the graphics

which is why i'm not looking forward to Fallout 3/NV remasters, speaking of. there's too much to fix that i know they won't touch, they'll just slap the hyper realistic unreal 5 look over it, drip on the piss filter, badabing badaboom omg bethesda is so back

Same, looks ugly as heck.

Different strokes for different folks but I've never got people who value graphics over art style

Sonic 3 still looks better than almost any gray/brown shooter you care to name.

I don't get who looked at Oblivion and said "Needs less colour, less fantasy, dull greys and browns everywhere! Everywhere and everything must look miserable and the NPC dialogue animations need to look even worse and more robotic."

I guess it depends on what generation you grew up with.
^ Hey now that's completely unfair!

No one complaining were ever going to play it anyways. Nor will they play the Fallout remasters. Hate that you hate it, but 4million daily players disagree.

Im not defensive. Just a longtime player of ES and very grateful for this update.

Eh, I can enjoy and praise the Remaster for what it does right (which is quite a bit; props to Virtuos for having a better batting average than your typical Bethesda in-house release) while acknowledging that they muffed the look and feel of much of the Great Forest. The Gold Coast is particularly disheartening; take away the small scattering of trees and it looks like your average Fallout landscape.

It bears repeating that OG Oblivion's grass made all the difference. That shit carried a ton of the visual immersion and hid a lot of the worldspace's seams.
Simple questions deserve long-winded answers that no one will bother to read.
