What did we do wrong??Nothing. It was the answer to a mistake (closing 261) that they refuse to admit to. They wanted to cut off political discussion from the rest of the site but instead of being smart about it they closed the politics board and then later locked CE and made it the only place we could talk about it. It would be so easy to reverse course by reopening 261 and making it the sole place to talk politics whether locked or not and then CE wouldnt need to be locked, but that would require them acknowledging the mistake and taking responsibility for fixing it.
Nope, the goal is to kill the boardIf this was true, wouldnt they just.. shut the board down?

Fandom is just trying to cover up their fuck up and CE, a social board, became a casualty cuz of it
If this was true, wouldnt they just.. shut the board down?Make it quick and lose a big userbase, or make it slow, blame us and keep most of the userbase throwing ads revenue at them?
Make it quick and lose a big userbase, or make it slow, blame us and keep most of the userbase throwing ads revenue at them?this. Remember the backlash and those 2 500 post feedback topics of people bitching when it was closed? Imagine how worse it would be if they closed it, and would probably piss off the mods too. Wouldn't surprise me if they wanted to close CE initially like Politics with their lack of judgment, but the mods probably stopped them or something. I remember seeing a couple of mods talking about being pissed when Politics was closed years ago.
Also, something about how CE and 261 were not family friendly and would scare away new users, or words to that effect.yes, the social board that is tucked away from the front page and requires digging through the special board site map, and requires 2 months of good behavior to even view and enter. That will scare new users away. But the console boards that are front and center on the front page and don't even require an account to view are fine and definitely not toxic apparently >_>
