not sure if its on mobile only, but a poke ball appears in the bottom right of the screen when you type in one of the original 151 Pokemon names. pretty neat!

It worked for me on my tablet.

I caught Electabuzz and Poliwhirl successfully. Then I tried for Mewtwo but it escaped. Google told me to try again with a master ball after I caught 100.
I'm a pervert.

Too bad it's only the first 151. Or 150, I dunno, but I know it's Kanto only.

Would have been nice if they expand a bit and include the newest ones (the Paldea mon) too
