It is my turn to provide dinner and I want to make it pesach themed.

I can make an apple and noodle pudding, marinade and fry up chicken livers. (Advice welcomed) I will buy some frozen cheese pieroge, have a jar of gefilte fish and a jar of organic beet juice.

I want to make a fruit soup. I reviewed some online recipes - meh. Is there something light and easy using fresh raspberries, frozen or canned cherries and does not require skill?

I've been to/apart of 40-50 sedars and the only thing you mentioned that made any sense to me was the gefilte fish

I hope the noodles youre using are the grain-free variety.

I said 'themed'. If you were coming over, I would accomodate. (It will actually be Easter.)

Jewish tradition is somewhat like Scottish tradition. There is an assumption of "We are practical and work with what is available."

I never had fruit soup. Grandma talks every now and then about the fruit soups her mother made during the summer.

I can just bring some raspberries but I hope I can deliver. I assure you that fruit soup was a thing.

Chopped liver pate is more traditional but pate has way to much chicken fat and hard boiled egg in it. Plus my ability to taste comes and goes. (covid legacy). You have to be able to taste to get it right.

My mom makes this really good chicken casserole, from the chicken she uses to make home made matzo ball soup.

Not everyone could afford prime fruit.

This is a Finnish recipe however fruit soup is a a sensible way of preparing fruit that is a mixture of overripe, ripe and green. You cook the overripe fruit to kill mold and the underripe fruit to neutralize 'don't-eat-me-yet' toxins. Then garnish with the good fruit.

Scoop into serving bowls and serve on its own as a dessert or with porridge as a light meal
